Hi Ramone and Rhonda, Just wondering how you're doing after banding? I'm doing well, haven't tried the scale yet. My port is still sore, I don't know how long that will last, but other incisions are fine.Walking about three miles a day, early in the morning before it gets too hot. I took three weeks off work so I'm relaxing a lot and enjoying it. Take care, keep in touch. Betty

Hi Betty, So far so good for me... I have a digital scale that doesn't go past (I think 330lbs) so I get a big 'ER' for error when I try it out. From a non-scale perspective, I'm pretty sure I've lost because I could fit into some jeans that I couldn't before... Considering what I've eaten so far I better be losing weight!!! My incisions don't hurt (not that I'm going out of my way to try and make them!) so I think they are OK. I wish I could have taken some additional time off, especially with the weather we are having... It's unreal... Question for you: I assume your incisions are cover with bandages (with gauze and then a clear tape all around). Did you get an idea of when you could take these off? Ramone

Hi Ramone, Dr Kuri said to remove the bandages when we got home, wash the incisions with soap and water, and replace them with regular bandaids every day. I had to buy some of the large waterproof ones for the port incision. There are also little strips of ?adhesive tapes under the bandages, 2 each on the small holes and 5 on the big one, which I left on. They are now starting to peel off. He said it's fine to wash them in the shower. They seem to be healing fine. By the way my cousin was mistaken about the $50 fill doc, she was talking about Dr Mitchell and he charges $125, don't know if that's with flouroscope or not. But it's cheaper than a trip to Mexico!!Take care. Betty

Hi Betty and Ramone, I have been doing well and my incisons are healing. I bought some bandages from Wal-Mart made by Polysporin called Scar Solutions. The are pricey ($38 a box), but my incisions are looking pretty good I think. Sometimes I feel my port press up against my ribcage. But if I press gently above it I can move it down a bit. I hope that goes away. I will start on full fluids tomorrow. Rhonda

Hi Edith, That would be great if you can get the band so soon at home. My surgery went very well, the hospital was really nice, clean and comfy. I was out of bed and walking in about three hours, and went to the hotel the next day after being checked by the doc.My husband and I walked a lot of miles in Tijuana the next couple of days then flew home. I have 4 small incisions and the port one is about 3", all pretty much healed already. The only discomfort I had was from the port and that gets less every day and is almost gone. So, so far no problems. I haven't got on the scale yet, but my clothes already feel bigger. If you'd like to talk about it, contact me and I'll give you my email or phone number. As of now, no regrets. Betty
