Newcomer with lots of Questions!
Hey Everyone! My name is Kaylyn, I'm 19 years old and have been clinically obese for all 19 of the years of my life. I was born fat, about 9 pounds, and nothing has changed since then. I have tried all the fad diets that have come up in my lifetime and haven't had much success (with the exception of losing 85 lbs on weigh****chers). My last doctor visit turned a new leaf for me...he recommended the gastric bypass. I went home and thought about it...alot...and I decided that it is something that would change my life forever. So it is a week later and I am currently waiting for my consultation date with Dr. Nohr in my hometown. So what I really wanted to get from anyone reading this is any bit of tidbits that I should know about the surgery. I have been reading alot of articles about it online and I know how the process works but as far as what foods I should be eating, what types of exercise is ok for right after surgery, how to minimize discomfort and scarring...I am pretty much lost. Any help would be great.
Lyn
