With deep sadness........we honor Dr. Alberto Aceves.
RNY.... Mine was 12/23/13. Took me five years to make up my mind and get myself ready. Have been struggling for a few weeks, and i am still glad i did it.
I had my surgery at Ochsner by Dr J. Wooldridge. Everything went well I was released next day. Had a little rough patch with dehydration (my own fault) but I wasn't hospitalized. But I am 2 months out now and down almost 60 lbs (HW 357 SW from 339 to CW 283) and even tho ive been stalled for a week (which I expected with rapid weightloss) these inches are dropping at rapid speed. Ive went from a 26-28 W to a 22W and even they are getting loose already. So No Regrets. I also have a Youtube Vlog if ya'll wanna keep up with my progress or ask me questions: https://www.youtube.com/user/tclay1985/videos
Good Luck to U all!!!
My surgery went well. I did need an extra days (3 days) in the hospital. My bladder was still sleeping! My nurse knew as soon as I told her that I was going to the bathroom very often but little water did I give up. They scanned my bladder right in my bed and then did a quick cath to help me release over a liter. Once done, I was able to make headway on drinking my water requirement. My surgeon was wonderful. He got me out of the hospital once he saw how well I was doing, walking and challenge some ladies to keep up with my distance. As of today I am down 2 sizes in pants and 1 in tops. Pounds: 39 from my highest weight. Broke 180 yesterday. I feel great and light on my feet. My Fibro pain has been down and I seem to have fewer active trigger points right now.

I had a band in 2008 and it twisted two years later. I had the bypass on 12/23/2013. Down 25 lbs. I was frightened of the surgery. Went really well. Surgeon did a hernia repair at the same time and that is the only incision that has been uncomfortable. Taking care of my 8 month old granddaughter after 2 weeks. Have to be careful lifting due to hernia repair. Feel great. Biggest issue is drinking enough water esp. as I live at 7,000 feet.
How are you doing?
Marcie
I also had surgery on 12/27 and the 2 weeks leading up to that were brutal - especially around the holidays. I was really hungry for the first time in a long while, but after the first week that seemed to get better. Now adjust to day 3 of a 14 day Full Liquid Post Op. Can't weight to eat pureed baby food for 2 weeks (ugh). Oh well, it will pay off.
My surgery is the same day! I agree best Christmas present ever! Congrats on your surgery.
