December, 2013 Group
If you can't find a group near you locally, you can always ask questions here. We're not medical people, and the majority of us have not yet had surgery, but we can share what we are each going through. If you have specific questions about your surgery - you need to call your center and find someone who can help you.
But for any general questions, we're always here.
Karen
The group is set up and is named "December, 2013 RUNY Buddies"(also open to those having the procedure late November or early January).
The direct link to the group is:

There should be a join button once you get open the group. If not, let me know. The only people I can invite directly are people on my friends' list. I can also invite people by email address. Other than that it's an open group and everyone should be able to join themselves.
I'm driving home from Mayo in Jacksonville today. I'll try to make sure everyone who wants to join is able to when I get home.
Talk to you later!
I just joined the group. I am hoping for a December date as I have been approved by insurance, just waiting on a call from the doctor office to schedule.

I think it is a wonderful idea and I would love to be included! My date is 12/18. I am a Sleeve girl though is that ok?
Absolutely, you are more than welcome here.
We seem to have 2 clusters of dates fairly close together. Our surgery dates are spread all over the place. It's funny, my original day was 12/18, until the surgeon's nurse called to tell me they needed to move it to the 17th. Jacklynsmamma is scheduled for 12/16 and Cunning_Pam is on the 18th with you!
Your experiences and guidelines may be slightly different than those of a RNY, but we are all undergoing drastric changes to our internal plumbing. The emotional ups and downs and ned for support and understanding people to listen will be the same for all of us.
We're glad to have you.
