12/3 was the first day of the REST of my life!!
I started my journey in mid-March this year. I went through the 3-month process required by my insurance carrier, then submitted for approval. I got denied in the end of July. I appealed. Got denied again in the end of August. I thought all was lost because I wasn't wiling to go the legal route for financial reasons. Then, my husband switched jobs. I was able to re-apply through my new insurance and was approved in October! I had surgery, FINALLY, on December 3rd! It was a long, grueling, emotionally-draining year for me, as I waited and wondered and gained even more weight :(
But that's all behind me now!
I went from 270 at the start of Optifast to 257 on my surgery date to 236.8lbs today! I'm beyond thrilled and can't wait to hit my goal of 150! I know it will happen :)
The idea of a December (or winter months) FB group for support is awesome! Let me know if anyone decides to set it up.
