Topic: revision 12/13/11 (lapband removed, bypass done)
Had my lapband taken out and a bypass performed on 12/13/11.  So far, so good.  Down a total of 50 lbs., including the 10 I lost during the 2 wk. pre-op Atkins-like prep. No real problems to speak of post-operatively.  Went back to work in about 2 weeks. Can't eat more than the size of my hand at a time, but it's suppose to be like that...if I drink water too fast, I get a little 'slow down' reminder in my chest.  Usually not hungry (big change for me), but learning how to eat to live instead of living to eat. I'm now eating whatever my family's eating, but in a much smaller amount.  Went thru food grief on and off during the first two weeks, but over that now.  Started beginner yoga to get re-aquainted with my body, and that is really working for me!  Taking my vitamins religiously, labs have been all good.  Anyone else with this type of revision done around the same time so I can compare notes?

Funny, I am having the same concern. I've only lost 25 lbs...in the first 2-3 weeks, and nothing over the last couple. I hope this works...let's keep in touch.

saw we had the same surgery dates. This is my 2nd time here...how is it going? I seem to be at a stand still with the weight loss. Initially I lost 33 lbs the first month but met with my MD almost 2 wks ago and haven't lost more than 1-2 lbs. Has this happened to you? I'm worried...

Topic: RE: How is everyone doing?
From Dec 30th when I was sleeved, I am down almost 60 lbs.

I no longer snore according to my wife and edema around my ankles is a thing of the past.  I'm going to a new primary care doctor so that I can hopefully get rid of the hypertension pills.
I'm waiting for a co-worker to say something, but I also know that I have a long way to go still.

I hope everyone is doing as well as they can be.

I didn't mean to sound like a downer. I have lost 30 pounds and I do think I made the right decision to have the surgery. I feel better now than I have in a long time. I have more energy and my personality is happier!
I have not taken a pain pill since i got home. The Dr. has taken me off of several meds.
The only real problem I had was an allergic reaction on my stomach, I broke out in little red spots and itching was terrible. Did anyone else have this problem?

Shadowcrypt, I was told that I would be regretting the surgery also. Wondering if I had made a mistake, they were right.  SO I assume it is normal.
I've had a few problems with certain foods at different times. I'm not eating like the others. My main thing is I forget and try to drink with my food, that's one of my problems. I am working on correcting that!
Hope I can help,
Terrie

I've started getting nausous in the mornings. And no and I'm pregnant! lol. It seems like if I eat before 11 am I toss my cookies. The doctor also told me to keep drinking the protein shakes. What I really want is NOODLES!!!!!

I know how you feel! I was throwing up most of my food also.  Went to the doctor yesterday and was advised to go back to just protein shakes and let my stomach rest for a couple of weeks then try soft foods again.  I feel your pain!!!  I am glad I am not the only one with this issue.  Please don't regret it!! I know at times I feel the same way till I weight myself and see that for the first time I am losing weight.  Hang in there, I will be thinking of you.
