I could use some healing prayers...
oh no, i am sorry to hear that! What kind of shakes have you tried? i really like the premier brand from costco. Have you been able to get samples? that will help you also. i hate making my own shakes because they do taste nasty so i never buy the powder. ive tried myoplex ones before and they are... ok?!
I am also on the low carb preop diet but i can have other things besides chicken and veggies. That would be hard if i had to have the same thing every day. i just have to keep it under 40 carbs per day. Yesterday was soo difficult, i gave in to sooo many temptations but this morning i woke up and told myself i need to do this and reminded myself of all the complications. so far so good. almost 1 day down. do you have a smart phone? you could get a widget that countsdown for you. i keep reminding myself... 20 days, only 2 weeks 6 days.
good luck hun! you can do it!!! :)

I'm not on pureed food yet. I'm having cream soups and applesauce with the protein powder added to them. I was even able to have a few teaspoons of sugar free pudding. My one week follow up appointment is in the morning and maybe they will give me the green light for pureed foods then. I'm hoping to be to mushies by Christmas dinner - mashed potatoes, hummus, pureed ham with a little pineapple!
How much I've lost is kind of complicated.
I started the 2-week pre-op diet at 278.
Morning I went into surgery I was at 261.
Came home from hospital weighing 272.
This morning I was just under 254.
Overall, I'm 24 pounds down from where I began with the pre-op diet. So, I think I'm losing about a pound of pre-surgery weight a day.
I'm very pleased because I've not been nauseated, the pain level has been very minimal, the incisions are healing very nicely. My energy level is excellent. I'd almost go back to work but I've been approved for three weeks off so I might as well take the time and enjoy the holidays, work on developing my new routines, and be nice and healed up before I go back to work.
