I'm in Indiana but am scheduled for Dec 29th.  Can you tell me how it went?  Just curious.  I'm hoping everything went okay for you.  How are you feeling?  How did surgery go?

Hi!

I hope everything went well for you!  I had my surgery on 12/11 and admittedly I had a few rough days, but now I'm a TON better (pun intended) and back to work.  Every day is a little better and I'm completely off pain meds... even Tylenol!

We can do this!!

I'm 5days post op today and I want this surgery to work so bad there is no way i would jeopardize it by eating something that is not on the meal plan....I've seen the after effects as a nurse who works on a bariatric unit. any questions feel free to ask me.

I'm 10 days post op and I think I'm doing pretty well.  I am able so handle 2 oz of water or liquid at a time.  I am eating pureed foods and very thankful to have them.  I haven't had pain meds in almost a week.  Keep your chin up.  I gets better every single day.

I was on a modified fast for 2 weeks before surgery.  Well almost 2 weeks.  It started after thanksgiving.  I had 3 shakes and a sensible dinner (lol).  With 1 week to go I started Bariatric Advantage shakes.  5 shakes a day and 1 bar - I guess that helped with the chewing.

Yeah they recommended starting pureed foods at week 2.  Maybe you should check with your surgeon.  Maybe you are not getting enough.

OUR DR. DOESN'T REQUIRE MUCH OF A PREOP DIET -- OURS (ME & HUBBY'S) IS JUST BREAKFAST ON THE 27TH WHICH IS THE DAY BEFORE OUR SURGERY ON THE 28TH. THEN THE REST OF THE DAY ON THE 27TH IS LIQUIDS UNTIL MIDNIGHT, THEN IT'S NOTHING AT ALL. I DON'T KNOW WHY MY DR. IS SO DIFFERENT...BUT THAT'S WHAT WE WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO. WHICH I'M GLAD...I JUST WONDER WHY EACH DR'S DIETS ARE SO DIFFERENT....ANY INFO?

Hi there!

I'm right there with you... my surgery date (for lap band) is scheduled on the 23rd of December, and I find myself being completely jazzed one hour, to near panic the next!  I think it's the same for me, too... delving into that world of the unknown... not knowing how you're going to fare when you come out on the other side!  I know this is going to sound a bit silly, but I'm actually really relieved to know that you can eat ANYTHING you want after the recovery period, and that you just won't want to eat so much 'cause you'll fill up really quickly.  To me, that really is the best of both worlds... knowing I can still have little nibbles of some of my favorite things now and again, so I won't feel completely deprived.

I'm here for ya, sistah... we can shout hurray and ring our hands in anxiety at the same time together! :)
