Hello, my name is Carol I too had surgery on the 20th. I didn't go home until thursday because of complications. I find it difficult to get out of bed and using the bathroom. It is getting better though.

My doctor has me on clear liquid until tomorrow then I finally can eat(drink) some real food like yogart and soup with no chuncks.

My follow up is on january 6th and I am looking foward to getting all my bandages off. They itch terriable.

I would love to keep up with those that are on the same course as me.

Hope to hear from some of you

Carol

Topic: 12/15 How is Everyone Else Doing?
I'm almost 2 weeks out.  Feeling very up and down.

Went to the mall today to price treadmills.  Felt so very fat and uncomfortable.  I know the weight loss happens fast but not fast enough at the moment.   Dreading going back to work next week.  Feel unprepared to pack and organize all I need for the day away from home.  I'm so very moody.

Anyone else?

I had my surgery 12/14.  I see everyone here went on that day (or the next day).  How's it going so far for you guys? I am having so much trouble "sipping" and I'm starting to get cravings! ughhh.

You can also puree meatballs with a little ricotta cheese...gives good protein and filling. Your bloated feeling will go away about a week or so afterwards.  Just try to do alot of walking to move and get yourself feeling better.  Good luck and happy trails to a new happy and healthy life!

I was on pureed foods a week after surgery.  I was able to do a scrambled egg for breakfast with 2 oz of skim milk mixed in.  This gave me 9g of protein for breakfast.  As a snack I have a protein shake.  I use Designer Whey cause it gives me 18g of protein with 3 oz of milk for a total of 22g.  Then for lunch I usually do 2 oz of tuna or chicken for a total of 13g and then a shake again in between and then for dinner 2 oz of ground chicken or turkey for 13g - this is an average of 77g of protein for the day.  I don't always do the 2nd shake but I'm trying to get back into it.  I am almost 3 weeks post op.  I had surgery on 12/9

If it is "meant to be" on the 30th, it will happen.  I tend to believe that wherever I am in my life is where I'm meant to be... sometimes things don't come together as I want, but I generally still believe that whatever happens is "right".

I hope the weather clears up, your surgery happens smoothly and you're on the loser's bench for the New Year!

Mine is on the 29th.  It's getting close for us.  Liquid diet was okay on some days but horrible on others.  Can't hardly keep the soup down at times.  I miss my diet cokes too.  It's worth it though.  Good luck to us all.

Good for you that you put a lot of time and consideration into your decisions. I am happy for you that you are excited for the surgery.  Every time I think of the wls surgery I am surprised by the emotions that I feel as I get closer to surgery...none of them anticipated.

After I had my 2nd baby in 03 I have wanted to have the surgery.  But one thing after another delayed me.  I think this is God's plan...I had a 3rd bonus baby and he is a delight.  I had more maturing to do...I don't think that the 25 year old me would have been able to comply with the post-op lifestyle.  The 33 year old me that I will be in a few more days is mentally, emotionally and physically ready for this surgery.

So are you all ready at your house?  I have a to do list a mile long---I want to come home to a clean house with fresh bedding, prepared post-op food ready to go.  I can't believe I am even thinking about where shaving my legs and painting my toe-nails will fit into the next 2 days...(besides at the bottom of this list :-) )

If we don't talk before the 30th, I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery!!

Sincerely,
Marjery
