Came home last night.  Had a heck of time trying to find a comfortable sleeping position.  If the nurse offers you pain meds, take it!  It'll help you sleep!  Last night, in my bed, was ahhhh, so nice!  I have lots of little pillows that I used to prop myself up on my side and had the best sleep yet.  My nap today was equally satisfying.  Also had my first popsicle today.   Again, ahhh, so nice.  Helped with my sore  throat from the breathing tube.  And it counts towards my liquids. :)  I thought for sure I'd feel worse than I do but it seems that each hour I feel a little better.  Stinks that's it's winter out and really can't walk outside but around and around inside the house I go.

Hi,

I'm 4 days post-op and believe it when they say each day is better!  Day 1 was not so hot, but today is 200% better!

It's good to be on the Loser's Bench... finally!

I am 5 days post op, and i've lost my energy. although all the pain and discomfort has gone away. Unfortanely, i'm craving crackers, and eggs!? what is that!?

so of course yes i tried a cracker and a bite of an egg, and i did ok. but then that fullness came along with it so i was done. It's helped a bit i can tell. drinking anything still hits my stomach like a pile of rocks. Nothing goes down easy.

Yes every day does get better but you will have a few days in there where you just want to rest. i'm a fast healer and all my energy is gone to that.

I'm 5days post op today and I want this surgery to work so bad there is no way i would jeopardize it by eating something that is not on the meal plan....I've seen the after effects as a nurse who works on a bariatric unit. any questions feel free to ask me.

How are you getting enough protein?  My surgery was Monday.

i'm drinking protein drinks, bullets.......both are costly to me and both i'm sick of. But i'm more sick of being unhealthy so I'm trying. I rarely actually truely drink soup or anything. I hope this gets better too. Just know your NOT the only one struggling. We all are.

I'm 10 days post op and I think I'm doing pretty well.  I am able so handle 2 oz of water or liquid at a time.  I am eating pureed foods and very thankful to have them.  I haven't had pain meds in almost a week.  Keep your chin up.  I gets better every single day.

I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and found that if you mix Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk with the Designer Whey Vanilla Almond protein powder, it's almost like an almond paste cookie!!  Very yummy!!  The almond milk is also good with any of the chocolate powders.  It feels like a treat!
