I am a NEWBIE with a question!

This is my first post and I am new to this forum. I will be updating my profile soon.

First of all I want to say thank you to all of you who are posting information. I have been reading all of the posts for about 6 months now. They have been very helpful. I have chosen the RNY procedure when the times comes.

I finally have all of my required appointments done and now I wait to hear from the staff on when I will have an appointment with a surgeon.

Does anyone know how long they will make us wait for a surgery date after meeting with a surgeon for the first time.

This past two months have been busy going back and forth to doctors while trying to get all of my appointments in. My family doctor called me today and told me they have found a small nodular density spot on my right breast and they have rescheduled me for another mammogram on Tuesday. I am 49 years old...apparently they are going to have a radiologist there to read the results and IF they see anything they will send me to have an ultrasound.

I am so SCARED this will set me back in this whole process if they tell me I have to have another mammogram in six months.

Breast cancer does not run in my family... my doctor did not feel anything during the physical, and  I do not have any pain at all. Should I be worried?

Can't wait to join the losers bench!

Time between your surgical consult and surgery date are so completely dependent on individual surgeons.

Hope the breast issues turns out to be nothing!

Thank you for the reply. : )
Will know by the 23rd what is going on with the mammogram. So that is a positive and should hear by the end of next week when my appointment for the first time with my surgeon is.

My fingers are crossed and praying things move along quickly.

Yeah...my follow up mammogram exam today came out clean! I even got an email yesterday saying they are going to schedule me an appointment with the surgeon for the first time. That appointment will be sometime in the next two weeks! I was told usually from the first appointment with the surgeon they will schedule my surgery from anywhere from two to four weeks.

I am looking at a possible surgery date at the end of December or during the first week of January.  Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Doing a snoopy dance here, standing on my tip toes with my ears flapping in the wind kind of happy. Woot Woot

They even told me I will not have any problem with my insurance company.

Did you get your surgery date yet?

I am so pleased to hear the mammogram turned out to be nothing!
