Topic: RE: How's come I can eat so much?
Hi, I may not be a lot of help. My surgery is tomorrow. They told me that I would et 2oz 5-6 times a day for the next year. It is my job to make sure I don't eat more. I know from the boards that you don't always have a sensation of fullness this early out or ever in some cases. I would be extremey careful with eating such large amounts because you could hurt yourself. I wish you the best on your success.

Be sure to take a picture cell phone and let her see that dad's doing okay! I've got 4 daughters and they were all in different locations but they did ok!
Be sure to give the school the information about where you are and cell #'s etc.

I thought I was only going to have room for 1 oz. I can eat an 8 oz. yogurt and it doesn't hurt. I ate 2 oz. turkey, 1 oz. mashed potatoes and 1 oz. squash for dinner last night. No pain. I never felt hungry nor full before surgery and I still feel the same now.
While I was in the hospital, I ate one popsicle and that KILLED my stomach!!! But, they said my new stomach was swolen and I probably ate it too fast. I also wonder if it was sugar free. I was in pain for 12 hours!
I don't have any problems with any foods so far except cold foods and beverages...they have to be room temp.
Anyway, I just wondered what other people are experiencing 2.5 weeks out from your surgery. I thought I'd have much less room. I don't eat a ton, but 8 oz. yogurt??? I expected to be done half way thru if not sooner?!?!
What and how much are you eating?

Topic: RE: How much will I probably loose on Pre-Op Diet? Did you loose any weight if so how much?
I had to do the 1% milk and SF Carnation Instant Breakfast 6 times a day as well as 48 oz. of clear liquids...preferably water...no caffeine for one week pre-op.
I lost 11 pounds.
I had surgery on Dec. 9th and have now lost a total of 23 pounds. I need to go figure out how to make one of those wt. loss tickers! :-)

Good luck to you - my surgery was December 14th and I am feeling great, no complications, and I'm on a pureed diet. Only problem is getting the protein drinks in and not much tastes good but I'm on my way to a healthier me and you will be too!

My husband is going to have gastric bypass on tuesday
I am getting nervous and my 9 year old daughter is getting very upset with us being away for almost 2 weeks, so that is not helping
We live in Ontario, canada and are having it done by Dr O'malley in Rochester
Any things I need to make sure I pack for the trip away?
and an ideas on making this easier for my daughter?
Thanks
sarah

I'm freakin' nervous, but uber excited, too!!!!!!!!
I think these lyrics apply to us all: :)
You'll be swell! You'll be great!
Gonna have the whole world on the plate!
Starting here, starting now,
honey, everything's coming up roses!
