Topic: RE: Had GBS Dec 17th anyone else?
Thanks 4 responding. I am having issues with the smell of people's breath. Everyone's breath smells horrible 2 me. It is spooky. No one can smell it but me. My family think I'm crazy. If someone gets 2 close 2 me I back away. I know I seem rude. I guess it will get better. Another thing how do I add friends from OH? I have none. Need support at times? Have lost any weight yet?

Had my RNY in ATL on 12/16. A few minor issues with smell and taste, but getting a little better.Currently 12 days Post-Op.
Topic: RE: How's come I can eat so much?
What surgery did you have? A friend of mine had the gastric bypass and he can only eat about 10 Cheesepuffs. I don't know how much that is, but he tells me that is usually what he eats. This is still about 3 months after surgery. However, he can drink about a half-gallon of water a day now.

Topic: RE: surgery was canceled
Can't help with the ticker/date issue, but wanted to chirp in about the cancellation.
I would be so disappointed if I were you, I am sure you are feeling a little down. Hopefully your thyroid will be regulated quickly and you can re-schedule soon. Or maybe resolving your thyroid will help resolve weight issues and you will not need the surgery at all.
In any case, good luck,
Julie

Topic: RE: RNY 12/7 and FINALLY home!
WOW. Thank you for posting this. I'm so glad you are able to be home now. What a scary thing to go through! We hear a lot of stories of how people breezed through without a problem, and that's so motivating! On the flip side, hearing how things can go wrong - REALLY wrong - helps keep things in check. Thank you for sharing with us. Keep us updated!
Topic: RE: How much will I probably loose on Pre-Op Diet? Did you loose any weight if so how much?
I was told to lose 15 lbs. i ended up losing 30 lbs. that was great but then could not lose any after that grrr... I tried several things to lose it and then found that using the rule =500 calories 3 times a day was the best for me.. just a thought for you. Troy
Topic: surgery was canceled
My surgery was scheduled for Dec. 28th,2009 but it has been postponed indefinitely due to the discovery of low thyroid levels. So until this issue is resolved my surgery is on hold. Im not sure how to change the date on this website though. I did change it on my profile, just not sure how to change it on here.
Topic: 12-29-09 a little nervous
Tomorrow is the day, did anyone else get the jitters the day before?
I'm excited but a little nervous, taking the citrate kinda put it all into prospective.
