I'm booked for 12/8.
Please post your progress!

You are determined and committed.
My RNY is scheduled for 12/8 and started the process back in March and my BMI is 40. I've been following a pre-op diet for 4 months of no alcohol, sugar or caffeine, replacing breakfast with a protein shake and a gluten free, high protein/ low fat lunch & dinner. The toughest thing for me to give up was caffeine - I was up to 4 XL coffees a day. I knew I was ready when I stopped the caffeine.
The one thing I cannot wait to do is go back to Yoga and actually be able to do the basics.
Let us know your progress.

All those teams to keep up with! Our Steelers are stinkin!
I bet Baltimore was hoppin today huh?
I had my preop test today and they said no news is good news.
The best part was in my travels for bloodwork, xrays through the hospital I met a few folks who have had WLS from Dr Uchal and they all loved him.
Congrats to you fellow self payer!!!
I wasted time, but I've decided to just pay for it ourselves. I told my hubby we'll save that money in visits to my podiatrist and all my other obese-illnesses.
My doc put me on a two week liquid diet for my vertical gastric sleeve.
You are really going to do great, and probably influence your patients to take the plunge too, good for you! You're going to be changing alot more lives than your own, I'd bet on it!
Oh Yeah, also I bought the most comfy soft best in the whole wide world Stan Herman robe off QVC.com for my recovery. Not sure if I want to muck it up at the hospital.
Good Luck Jen and Kerry!
To prepare I've:
Made sure the bills are paid or scheduled online for the whole month.
I still have to:
Go Christmas shopping and decorate.
Figure out what I'm going to tell my 9 and 14 year olds, I don't think they'll like the idea of surgery.
Leave the pizza man and my Mum's number for my DH.
Write the check for 16K to the hospital for my Dec 9th surgery!!!
I checked out the forums, and found lots of advice on what to bring ( and not to bring) to the hospital. The most required items were : robe, slippers, book, chapstick, and shampoo. I'm planning on wearing home what I wear in - loose sweats! Also, I'm packing a pillow in the car to use on the way home over my incision in case I cough! This week will fly by - then on to the rest of my (hopefully prolonged) life! Good luck! Faye
