Yes! The pre-op all liquid diet (mine is Optifast) is hard at first. But, if you can just stick with it for the first few days it DOES get better. The headaches to away, the hunger does also, and the food cravings do subside. I was on the all liquid diet twice in the past (losing over 100 lbs each time), so I know how hard it can be at first. But, promise - it does get better! Oh - and drink LOTS of water!

I wish you all the BEST on your surgery and just think it's the New Years resolution that all women make...2 lose weight!!
I will be glad when the surgery is done and I am back at home with my family..

My surgery is scheduled for 15/12/09 but I just wondering if there's anyone else out there who's having surgery at St Mary's Hospital in Duluth on, or around the same day?

I'm with ya Jeff I can't believe it's just right around the corner!! I keep thinking that I'll get a phone call telling me it's been postponed...urgh. However I do have my hospital report time for Tuesday 9AM woohoo - so to me looks like I'll be having an 11 am surgery!!

What is your name? Tracy
How old are you? 40
What are your weight stats? SW/CW/GW 325/-/140-150
Where do you live? Ohio
Who is your surgeon? Dr. Peter Lalor
Which surgery are you having done? RNY
What is your surgery date? Dec 22, 2009
Have you always been overweight? Yes
What made you decide that surgery was the path for you? I have a baby and 2 teenagers I want to be around for to see grow up. So I want to be healthier
What are the top five things you can't wait to do/experience once you are slimmer?
1. Ride roller coasters
2. Buy cute clothes that fit good
3. Get off of insulin
4. Feel better about myself so that I can feel better about my relationships with others
5. My one truly vain and personal reason... I have a twin sister who weighs about 110. Would love to have a pic of the 2 of us that she isn't ashamed to have/be in. And to tell her to get over herself! She has always told me that I am the reason she will never let herself gain weight. It disgusts her.
What is your pre-op preparation? 2 week liquid diet, then 2 days clear liquids
Out of 10, how strong is your real life support team? Do you have any concerns or fears about the surgery or your new life?
Till they go back to work and school its a 10, nervous about taking care of baby after the holidays are over with. (Being able to lift him) Kind of scared that something could go wrong in surgery
Hoping I don't fail at this too.
Hope everything goes well for you all. Happy Holidays
