I started the liquid diet last Tuesday just to see if I could do it because my surgeon doesn't require it, and i also found it pretty easy.
Six more days, woohoo!!!!!!

are you getting excited???? I know I am :) The first day of liquids wasn't all that bad. When I was physically hungry I took a can of soup and strained the veggies etc out. It was yummy and warm.
I can't wait to "talk" to you after we're on our way!!!!!

Topic: 6 days to go and lasted my first day of pre-op liquids
Next Monday I'll be on the other side...
Yesterday was my first pre-op liquid day. WHY did I find it fairly easy? Don't get me wrong, I was hungry a couple of times. Not mentally hungry, but physically. I did sleep more than usual, so that helped get me through it. I think the soup broth really helped. I added Taco Bell hot sauce, so it gave it some taste and the heat made it fill me up. I take a can of soup and strain out all of the bits and pieces. I find that much more satisfying than a bullion cube (and far less salt) or liquid broth. It also has flavor. I use progresso light, healthy choice, or just good old fashioned campbells. I bought what was on sale since I was just drinking the liquid. I don't care for "cream of..." soups, so that is my solution to that.
I didn't realize Kozy Shack has sugar free pudding. It's really good. In fact it's less in sugars and has protein compared to the FF SF jello puddings.
Well, I'm starting day 2 of liquids. Let's see how nice I am in 24 hours! LOL

Thanks LyndseyLou! I think we will too. I realized 12/28 was the day my mom died and it is kind of freaking me out, but I am looking forward to a new healthier life. Keep me posted on your progress and I pray all goes as planned for you as well.
Topic: RE: Gastric Sleeve ....Scheduled for 12/21......New to Board, Too
Hi ! I was sleeved last Tuesday 12/15 - I was approved the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, those two weeks I could have jumped out of my skin!
I was also given a pill to take right before surgery to ward off the nausea from the anesthesia
I was told to bring my mask only not my full cpap machine, they wound up putting one of those little tubes right at the beginning of my nostrils instead - they also did not give me a pump pain drip because apparently I was not breathing welll with it so they came in an put the pain meds in my IV (but that was me...) I had clear liquids the two days before surgery (prior to that it was a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and a small dinner w/ protein and veggies -
IN the hospital I was not given anything after surgery until the swallow test the next morning - after I was back in my room and passed my swallow test they sent up crystal lite, chicken broth and sugar free jello, I could have a total of 3 oz; they also gave me --- the second day they brought me the same for breakfast and by lunch I had peed enough to come home :)
Once I came home I was to have 64 oz of water and 9 oz of protein shake for two weeks - I am having a hard time getting all the water in .... but I am okay w;/ the 3 0z for B/L/D.
My pain has not been bad
I will say walk, walk as much as you can once the nurse gets you up and out of bed ..... and when they do give the liquids sip, sip, sip ---- I followed those instructions and have not had too many issues w/ gas pains.
Hope this was helpful as everyones experience/doctor's orders are differant.
Lottsaluck :)
