Hello everyone. I can't believe December is almost here. The beginning of our new chance at a healthy life is just around the corner. I thought maybe we could introduce ourselves and offer up support as we are all in this together.

Have you always been overweight?yes- never to the extent I am now- but it was always there

What made you decide that surgery was the path for you? my health is getting worse and I want to live to hold my grandbabies

What are the top five things you can't wait to do/experience once you are slimmer?
-not worry about if I will fit in booth at a restaurant
-not be the largest person in the room
-shop anywhere
-have more energy and confidence
-decrease the amount of pills I take

What is your pre-op preparation? 3 days liquid diet before surgery

Out of 10, how strong is your real life support team? I am very fortunate - I would say a 9

Do you have any concerns or fears about the surgery or your new life?LOTS.missing my best friend,  transfer addictions, relationship with my husband, kids and friends- not having the weight to hide behind etc.

1 - Cut my toenails without being a contortionist
2 - Flying on an airplane without worrying if the seat belt extender is needed.
3 - Not buying clothes in the Big & Tall section
4 - Enjoy life again
5 - NEVER BEING OVERWEIGHT AGAIN

What is your pre-op preparation? Low fat diet & learn as much as I can about my future lifestyle.

 Do you have any concerns or fears about the surgery or your new life? Not about the surgery, but I fear gaining the weight back, as I have failed by dieting many times in the past....

1. Feel better

2. Feel my boyfriends arms all the way around me 

3. shop for regular size clothes

4. Getting off diabetic medications / insulin

5. excercise without breathing like I am dying! :)

Have you always been overweight? Yep...as long as I can remember

What made you decide that surgery was the path for you? I watched my sister in law go through it and did a tremendous amount of research.

What are the top five things you can't wait to do/experience once you are slimmer?
1--Shop at a normal clothing store
2--Run around without getting out of breath
3--Fit in a airplane seat comfortably
4--Have my husband carry me
5--Spend less than $40 on a bra

What is your pre-op preparation? 1 week liquid protien diet

Out of 10, how strong is your real life support team?  Do you have any concerns or fears about the surgery or your new life? I have been pretty fortunate and would say that my support team is about an 8. My biggest fear is the breathing tube. That scares me!

Have you always been overweight? Yes...sadly

What made you decide that surgery was the path for you? I am just plain fed up. I want to live....I want to be a mother and a wife....and I don't want my weight to be a hang up

What are the top five things you can't wait to do/experience once you are slimmer?
1. NORMAL CLOTHING!!!!!
2.Riding amusement park rides
3. Flying without the extra embarrassment of an extented belt
4. Not getting worn out just doing everyday tasks, and living
5. Did I mention...NORMAL CLOTHING.... =]

My team is rooting for me. THey are a strong solid 9.5  (lol would of had a ten but they are nervous)  They are concerned about  the surgery...I mean...I am to =] but that is mostly it.

Have you always been overweight? I fought obesity all my life - By this I mean I was fat as a baby and average growing up. In highschool I got down to 125 - 135 by being on the swim team - Working out 3 hours a day for 6 days/wk then as soon as that stopped I went up to 180 when I got married and went up from there.  

What made you decide that surgery was the path for you? My children, my quality of life, and sick of failure

What are the top five things you can't wait to do/experience once you are slimmer?
1. Keep up with my kids and not look like a blob running
2. Ride roller coasters again
3. Date - I have been divorced for 2 years now and seperated for 3 years and I'm starting to feel lonley but I don't feel "pretty" enough to date and don't know where to go to meet someone. 
4. Ride my bike for a mile without hurting
5. Walk for 2 miles without slowing down
6. Enjoy life with no/better sleep apnea, better diabetes, and less health problems.

What is your pre-op preparation? 2 week liquid diet which SUCKS, Only 10 more days.

Yes, I'm scared I will die and leave my kids with no one. They are only 4 and they have no one but me. They have their grandma and grandpa bt it's not the same as mommy.

1. have my picture taken with my family or any one.. I hate seeing pictures of myself this size,
2. buy cute clothes
3. seeing people who I haven't seen in awhile
4. not having all the aches and pains
5. being a role model to friends and family with a healthy life style

What is your pre-op preparation? I am eating anything I want up to the day before,, then its clear liquids and bowel prep.

4. Feel better about myself so that I can feel better about my relationships with others
5. My one truly vain and personal reason... I have a twin sister who weighs about 110. Would love to have a pic of the 2 of us that she isn't ashamed to have/be in. And to tell her to get over herself! She has always told me that I am the reason she will never let herself gain weight. It disgusts her.

Till they go back to work and school its a 10, nervous about taking care of baby after the holidays are over with. (Being able to lift him) Kind of scared that something could go wrong in surgery
