Wow, lots of good points Julie!  I'm going to try and throw in some additional , different exercise and see if that helps.  I haven't been feeling much better, aside from I do have more energy now compared to week 7 where I was still feeling so drained. I know the walking has helped there.  My low back has been messed up since after surgery and that's not better. I'm also upset that my knees seem to be hurting more since surgery than before. But I really attribute that to not being able to take Advil now. I took it twice a day, 800mg before surgery. UGh!

I'm really going to try and up the water and protein intake. I know my water is at least 48oz a day, probably closer to 64, but I should get more.  My protein count is usually between 50-60, I think I could do better with that too. :-)

Hi all,
I read somewhere about stalls.  They compared our wt. loss to climbing flights of stairs.  When you first start out, you have the energy to climb, then you get up to the first landing and have to catch your breath, (small stall)  Then you proceed up the stairs to the next level, another stall and so on and so forth.    Stalls are a definate part of losing weight.  Kind of makes sense that after a good loss, our bodies have to rejuvinate, before they can start up again.  Hope this helps instead of confuses.

I have tried diet sierra mist.  A great treat once in awhile.  I also let some of the carbonation go flat, just for a few mins. and then pour over ice and just sip.  By the time you get to the bottom of the glass  4 oz., it is diluted and a little flat, but tastes great.  Only gotten a bit of gas one time.  Try it, you'll not know if you can handle it till you do.  Hugs,  Donna

Hi Everyone,
I am so glad to hear all of the success stories.  I am also glad to have had my RNY.  I have lost 59 lbs since my surgery.  I went in at 301 and weighed 242 lbs. this morning.  I am still having trouble with the image in my head though.  I know I am smaller but in my head, I don't feel any different.  People keep telling me how good I look. Maybe if I could afford to buy some new clothes that would help.  Still in the size 26 pants, don't know what size I should really wear?  Oh well, someday. Just wondering if anyone else had the same head trip going on.
Congrats to us all !!!!            Hugs,  Donna

Ok... some things to step back and think about:

1)  You lost EIGHT pounds!  EIGHT!  Rock on!  Sure, you may think it's too slow, but think of the advantages to your SKIN to losing slowly.  And.. I don't know about you.. but when I did WW, I was still hungry all the time and totally conscious of being on a "DIET".  Not so much with the surgery!  EIGHT POUNDS!!  Stand tall!

2)  You're working out a lot.  I'm thinking muscle replacing fat!  Muscle weighs a LOT more than fat.  Of course you won't "lose" a lot of weight, but you will lose a lot of fat!  Which is your goal?

3)  Are you FEELING better?  Do you notice that the exercise is helping you?  I know I sure did!  I feel your pain.  I've been in a 2 1/2 week stall now and it's very aggravating.  How can we eat so little and not lose weight?  Beats me... it'll happen when it's supposed to happen!

4)  Are you doing the same exercise routine at the same time of day?  My Nut said that your body figures this out pretty quickly and learns to be ready for it.  He said you have to mix up the routine AND when you do it!  Don't let your body figure it out.  :-)

5)  EIGHT POUNDS!  Imagine.. 8 pounds EVERY month!  Even on WW you couldn't sustain that for too, too long!

Don't get frustrated!  I think we are all feeling the "I'll be the one person that this surgery does NOT work for!"  We're wrong.  It's going to work.  Keep with your program, stay on top of your protein and fluids.  By summer.. we'll be laughing that we were worried and frustrated in February!

p.s.  I'm REALLY proud and amazed that you stayed off the scale all month. I know I couldn't do it.  Not yet anyhow!

Hi Kristy, I'm in the same boat as you.  Although I was banded and bandsters usually lose at a slower pace.  I have been exercising 5 - 6 days as week as well.  You are probably burning fat & building muscle.  Are your clothes feeling looser?

Kristy,

I wouldn't say everybody hates seeing these post, Because we are here to fell your pain and comiserate(sp) with you.

It's ok to be frustrated. Just don't let it overcome you. Like everybody keeps saying on here. The weight will come off when it wants too.

One thing I found to be true. is to up the water n Protein intake and maybe change ur workout around. Give ur body a jumpstart so to speak.

Kepp up the good work. It will happen when u least expect it.
