Topic: I don't Dump and wish I did
Crazy as it sounds I so wish I would dump. I don't think I do. I haven't really tested it out but things like sauces and granola bars don't set me off in any way. I am bummed that I don't have this tool to help me as I was assured that most people dump after WLS. Do I have any fellow non-dumpers out there? I

Topic: RE: Ok now I'm pissed
I have severe arthritis in my knees and had to quit taking my NSAID arthritis medicine too. But, Tylenol for Arthritis (or the generic which is what I buy now) has helped me a lot with the pain. I can tell when the 6 or 8 hours runs out though - the pain reminds me it's time for another dose. I haven't had a bit of trouble taking that - don't think I could move without it. I wish my knees weren't so bad so I could go for a walk. But at least I'm able to walk through the house now without crying. Once this weight is gone I'm looking to buy some new knees!
Good luck!

My weight fell off fast during the first 3 weeks and now it's just slow, slow, slow. I think my body is trying to compensate and/or I need to exercise (I haven't been). The last month I only lost 5 lbs, so you've got me beat there! I have almost 200 lbs left to lose so I've got a long way to go.
I've read a lot of posts and it seems like a lot of u**** plateaus like this - at least I'm HOPING it's temporary. So don't get discouraged and don't weigh yourself too often. As long as it's going DOWN and not up, you're good. And yes, that muscle you're adding is heavier than fat and eventually it'll rev up your metabolism and increase your weight loss.
Good luck - and keep posting - it's good to know there are others like me!

Hi Kristy,
We certainly understand and we don't mind those "I'm not losing weight posts". My husband had RNY 1 year ago. He lost 5 pounds a week every week til he reached his goal. I on the other hand.....well I have to say that I cry to him at least once a week that I am not losing weight.
But you got some good advice here. I also have problems with my knees and the pain is worse since my RNY but I have found other ways to exercise. I had been at a stall and then very slow for another week. I did what Tom said, upped my protein intake and increased my water. And I ate different food. It worked. I lost alot more for the past 2 weeks. Everyone is different but this seems to help.
Good luck and I think you look beautiful in your picture. Your weight loss is definitely noticeable.

Hi Barb,
I am right there with you about 59 lbs gone. I am still having trouble getting down all of my protein and water too. I am not getting all of my water in, I really am trying though. It seems to make me nauseas most of the time. I could down a whole bottle at once b/4 RNY. I am getting exercise in though. I walk a mile in the morning before work and then I just got home from the gym (local gym at the Parks & Rec's Dept.) My son went with me and boy did he work out my arms. They really need toning. Are you seeing loose skin yet?? Boy, I sure am. Well, take care and keep in touch. Hugs, Donna
