Topic: RE: 15 weeks out how much are you eating?
Hey girl,
I hope you are feeling better.
Are you going to be at the support group meeting this monday??
I hope you are feeling up to it..would like to see you there.
I still can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food, not much more then 1month-2months out. I'm sure you will be catching up very soon since you aren't using your feeding tube...stay positive, I know you have been through alot, I can't imagine! Well, don't over do it and keep up the great work.
Later,
Rachel

Only 37lbs...I hope I catch up....I had a leak and was on a feeding tube getting 1800 calories a day! Just started eating 2 TBS a few weeks ago and stopped the feeding tube (Now take the darn thing out). Doc still hasn't given me a medical release to exercise! Joy

Because of a leak I am still on 2 TB of food after 15 weeks....still have a feeding tube (but I am not using it). How much is the norm to be consumed at this point? Sometimes I overeat or eat something that doesn't agree with me...I have only been eating for a few weeks now. Also, because of the leak I had been getting 1800 calories on the feeding tube. I have only lost 37 lbs. Will I catch up or will the delay hender me from loosing weight? Joy
Topic: RE: Afraid to try a salad after RNY
I've had no problems with salads. I too, cannot do broccoli. Even cooked to mush, my pouch does not tolerate it.

I bet everyone always told you that you have a beautiful face - it's true. And even more so now that your bone structure is showing more. Losing 46 lbs in 3 months is amazing - congratulations to you - you don't have much farther to go now!
Hugs,
Cindy

I agree with you on the broccoli! It's just too dense I guess?

I was like you but tried a bit a few weeks ago - my daughter and I had gotten grilled chicken salads from Subway and I had been eating only the chicken and leaving the salad for her. But a few weeks ago I decided to try a bite of the salad. I chewed it to smithereens before I swallowed it! And I sat there and waited for it to make me sick, but it didn't. I tried another couple of bites and waited awhile after each one. They didn't seem to make me feel as full - maybe because by the time you chew it into a practically liquid form it doesn't take up much space! lol
I think by now it's ok to try anything that's reasonable - small bite at a time. Now I make sure I'm getting my protein in and then add salad when I want it. It is so refreshing to chew on crunchy raw veggies again!
Good luck!

I've noticed wanting to eat more often too - but find I don't get hungry as soon if I eat certain foods - for example, when I eat scrambled eggs and a strip of bacon (lower fat) I don't feel hungry for hours and hours - but if I have something else like a protein bar or something less substantial like a turkey roll up I do seem to want to eat again more quickly.
I also have too much idle time - I'm a retired teacher at age 54 and when I get more weight off I need to get a job - not only for money but to keep my mind busy and me out of the house. That's probably not anyone elses' problem though - just mine.
Good luck to you - and keep posting - it's really interesting and helpful to hear what others are going through.

Cindy

Topic: RE: Hair Loss?
I have noticed that when I hit 3 months mine really started to come out when I would shower...gel or even brush my hair. I have thick hair...for now... and I have been trying to figure out what I need to do to keep it all from coming out..
