Topic: RE: Hi December surgerites!
Thanks for the post! So far, I am handling Easter preparations well. We have a large candy display right as we enter the employee side at work that looks pretty, but is easy to resist. What was very tough was at church this Palm Sunday they gave every member a box of Peeps! I just walked right past them handing them out and headed out the door... no thanks! You're right, this is an eating holiday, and the temptations are out there...
Happy Easter!
Topic: Hi December surgerites!
How are we doing? How are we handling the looming Passover/easter holiday preparations. How are we dealing with the aisles and aisles of chocolate bunnies, candy and peeps.
I am doing ok. Still struggling with the hunger issue but I am thinking that some of it is head hunger when I am stressed so I am trying to watch out for that. Personally I have stayed away from the candy aisles as much as possible. For me, Easter is tougher than Christmas because it is more of an eating holiday. At Christmas it is spread out over a long period of time, but now...WHAM one day and you have the potential to eat for hours on end!!! Peeps were my passion, now I only stay with the broiled, grilled and baked kind! Don't trust myself to the sugar free kind either. Maybe next year.
Hang in there everyone... I wish you all a wonderful Passover/Easter. Be tough!

Topic: RE: 15 weeks out how much are you eating?
I hope you are feeling better soon. You are still doing well with the weight loss but I am sure it will improve once you get a little more nutrition in. I only eat 1/2 cup of food at a meal and I try to stay within 3 meals a day. I do feel like I can eat more but I am not doing it. That feeling has been troubling me alot. Keep us posted on how you are feeling.
Topic: RE: 3 week long stall?
i had my surgery dec. 22 as well and have lost 60 lbs. however i frequently go a week and not lose anything....then i lose 2 lbs. i am so frustrated by it, but i didn't realize it could be the protein issue...i guess i will have to eat more protein and that might help.
Topic: RE: 3 week long stall?
I feel your pain. I too am 4 months out and have had a few stalls. Once I up the protein and water I seem to lose again. I have to keep reminding myself ~~ PROTEIN FIRST!!!!!
Good luck

Topic: RE: Dec 10, Banded and Plateau'd
Hi Sharoon,
I have noticed that when I exercise my azz off that I will plateau for sometime up to 3 weeks. I hate it, but it is really true that muscle weighs more than fat. Take your measurements and keep reminded that this too shall pass. You'll start moving again soon, it happens to me also. So take care and keep in touch. Hugs, Donna

OMG while I'm sorry to hear about your frustration I am SOOOO glad I'm not the only one! I had my surgery 12/22 and have been doing exactly the same thing since the weekend of March 15th! I finally got back on the bandwagon yesterday and today with my exercise and I, too, have let my protein slip. Likely why I'm also starting to lose hair! In any case.. you are NOT alone! We'll get through this. I've heard others say that our body hits these plateaus because our metabolism stops and adjusts itself during this time. Up the protein, liquid and exercise and we should be right as rain. That's what they say, anyhow.
Good luck on getting through the stall!

Topic: 3 week long stall?
I am just shy of 4 months and have been going back & forth with the same 2 lbs for the past 3 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? One day I'm up, next I'm down but basically, I'm the same weight I was 3 weeks ago. I have been letting my protein intake slip a bit so I know that could be partly (or fully) to blame and tomorrow I plan on reversing that but I was just wondering if anyone else has had a stall this long? Thanks!
