Topic: Have any of you had a hernia or hernia repair?
After having a leak and all the complications that come with it I now have large hernia. I see the surgeon on the 4th but from what I understand they will not repair it until I loose the rest of my weight (another 25lbs). Have any of you had a hernia or a hernia repair?

Topic: RE: Working out
Join a gym with a pool.  The end of January I went and just walked in the pool for 10 minutes.  After 3X's I increased it to 15 minutes, etc.  When I hit 45 minutes I decided to try a stationary bike.  It has a TV attached and I was on it for 10 minutes.  Then I increased the time every now and then until I hit 30 minutes.  One day I decided to try the treadmill.  I am now at 25 minutes on a treadmill.  I am now eying the elliptical.  Once I started the bike I also started weights.  My GYM has computerized weights so you know how much you lift.  My first try was 3,100 LBS.  Yesterday was a personal high of 14,400 LBS.  Start SLOW and you won't be discouraged.  JUST START!!!!  You will love it after awhile.  Good Luck.......Kathy

I wish I lived near you - I am in the same boat.  I need someone to knock some sense into me.  I have never begun to exercise (once or twice doesn't count) and am starting to graze and snack - which explains why my scale hasn't moved in a month or so.

I need a swift kick in the butt.

I am down 82 since surgery.  I have not had any problems with my RNY and feel great.  Another 73 to go to get to what I think is my goal weight.

My new favorite dinner is to heat up my cast iron flat grill and butter (just a super small smidge) a low carb, high fibre tortilla.  Then I put on some La Victoria green sauce, some reduced fat cheese, some left over beef or chicken and pico de gallo.  I cover it for a while to let everything get melty and warm, then I use a spatulla to bring it over and I hold it there so it takes the form of a taco.  Yummy!  Lots of protein, and it fills me up.

Congrats on the 89 pounds.  That is wonderful news.

You name it and I am eating it, except sweets. I am probbaly the worst for snacking.

When I am at work and we have a lot of down time, my old habits kick in.

There are a lot of good recipes on here. I don't have a my homemade cook book w/ me. If I get a chance to stop home I will post some of the ones floating around here.
