Topic: Day 8 Post-Op
Hello Everybodyyyyyyyyyyyyy,
Today is day 8 post-op, had my LapBand 12/12..... I had zero surgical complications thus far, and no pain meds(actually i did take two to try and get extra sleep on day 2, but they don't make me sleepy)... I believe I am doing really well.... I have not experienced hunger at all... I am down 11 lbs... and just started Phase Two - Moist Mushy of my post-op diet....
I had my favorite yougart this morning for breakfast, and I actually found the texture weird, I guess after 7 ful day of clear liquid who would'nt...
My band is not primed at all 0.0cc... I will not get my first fill until a full 6 weeks post-op..
I will keep you all posted...

Congratulations. I came home yesterday too. They took my drain out in the hospital so I am fortunate for that. Is anyone having problems withe liquids and getting enough in. They tried to keep me in the hospital becasue I wasn't taking in enough and it took me a day to sip down a pint. I am just a little worried about having to go back when being home feels so good.

I can't begin to imagine the disappointment you must've felt! Just know that, even if we don't get the "why", there's a reason for everything that happens! Your "right" date will come and it will be a phenomenal success! Besides... would you really want a sick doctor operating on you? Ew
I'm praying your new date isn't too far off!! (It'd suck to have to re-meet insurance deductibles, etc.) Keep us posted on the new info!

I'll have to check the bottle blender out. How much was it?? That would work in my classroom for sure. I also need to figure out a way to keep things cold. Right now, I HATE drinking warm stuff. However, I'm told that may change after surgery.
Do you have your time yet? I found out last night that I'm scheduled for 7:30 am on Monday. I've been near tears ever since. I think I might be second-guessing my decision. I have had thoughts of cancelling and saying just forget it. I know I need to do this, but I'm so scared!!!
In any case.. you'll be on my mind this weekend and through next week. I'll be lookin forward to catching up on our recoveries.

That is EXACTLY what my surgeon said to me when I told him the date I'd been scheduled. I'm terrified, especially now that I have my show up and surgery time. I KNOW this is the thing I need to do but I'm still scared. I'm getting through with the help of this forum. Who knew internet friends could be so incredibly helpful!!

Topic: Disappointed
Yesterday, I arrived at the hospital promptly at 5:30 as instructed. I then filled out tons of paperwork and got undressed. My nurse was helping me put on the stocking that you have to wear during surgery, and bam! Another nurse came in and said that my surgery was canceled because my doctor was sick. I cannot explain the amount of disappointment that I felt right at that moment. Oh well. I have to call on Monday to get a new date.
