shocked person number 2. I didn't have a drain either, and my surgeon wouldn't let me off the table if I had a leak.  why not repair it while ur in the OR?

good luck.

Great to hear you are on the loser's bench Congrats.

on a side note. I make house calls if you need blood drawn. Paramedics are much better at it than nurses, lol

Glad you're home and feeling better. Way to go losing that hospital weight AND MORE so quickly! I was one pound up at my one week check- NOT a happy camper about that. I wanted to be at least even, if not have had a small loss. Guess my body likes to hold on to water.  ;-(

Glad you're doing well and congrats on being 18lbs down. Mine was the 11th and I'm still really struggling with energy.  Am anxious to see how much I've lost today when I meet w/ the nutritionist.

You think YOU'RE shocked - I nearly fell of my chair when my surgeon gently told me post op that I had a leak, that it was a small one, and that the best way to deal with it was to leave the drain in for 8 weeks. It was either that or go back in surgically and try to repair it. I said no thanks to a 2nd surgery.  So here I am, 2 weeks down, 6 to go. Not looking forward to returning to work on Monday with this bulge under my clothes, but at least the clothes are gonna be a little baggy.

You have to wear a drain for 8 weeks??????

I think I read that correctly?  I didn't even have a drain so i am not much help but I was shocked at the length of time you have to wear it.

Yes it is hard sometimes to stay motivated!  I just think that that doctor put some "happy" switch in me because I just feel happy and I think that is making everything easier to deal with. I don't want it to go away!.  I wake up every morning thinking oh my gosh, If I choose, I never have to feel like I did before.  It's so freaking "pollyanna" and that is SO NOT ME!!!!  (I spent 22 years in NYC!)

Plus, I live in Florida and it's never to cold to walk so I just don't have an excuse!!

So since I have no excuses, I will do my best and hope that the weather improves for you all. '
And I wish everyone a Healthy, Happy Holiday.

So here I am, 2 weeks out, still with my stupid drain.  I have 6 more weeks to go. Not a happy camper, but I guess it could be worse. Just wondering if I am alone in the early December surgeries with this complication (a small leak)?
