OK.. so my surgery is scheduled for Monday 12/29. I went for my pre op blood work and what not on Thursday 12/18. Today I go to my primary doctor for pre-op clearance ... and
MY STUPID TEST RESULTS ARE NOT THERE!!!!!!!
my doctor calls the lab.... and THEY ARE CLOSED!
Bottom line...if the results don't show up at the doctors office by 1pm tomorrow .. no surgery for me on the 29th!!! (my primary doctors office will be closed from 1 pm tomorrow until Monday the 29th)
Keep your fingers crossed that the blasted results show up tomorrow!!!!
I feel so much better! Thanks for listening...

Topic: RE: Is anyone else still wearing their stupid drain?
Yes, I had to do a second blue dye test at my 7 day check and the blue dye ran into the drain bulb. That's not good apparently. So they sent me for a CAT scan and said they can see the leak. It is very tiny and it is on the back in a "bad" (I guess that means hard-to-operate-on) place. But they think because it is so small, it will mend on it's own. Tomorrow is 14 days out. Let's see if things change.
Right now, I have alot of pain still at the drain site. It doesn't get better. I am feeling better though on all the other parts, so I have started to do things like lift laundry baskets on the other hip. Yes, I know, don't overdo it. But if I feel like I can, why not?
Will update more tomorrow night. Thank you all for being my on-line community of friends. Only you guys really understand. - Lisa

Merry Christmas..what a great gift to yourself!! Hopefully for you the pain will go away quickly. mine did after a few days. And it gets better everyday. But as everyone says, watch out for the crazy gas. I wasn't even prepared for that kind of pain!

Merry Christmas. It may not feel that way but I think in the long run it is going to be a cool present for you. The first few days of adjustment were not easy ones for me either and I know we are all different in that aspect. Just take your time doing things and hopefully your new pouch will stop revolting.
Topic: RE: Dec 8th Patients...How you all doin??
I had my RNY on 12/8 too.
Down 15 lbs (240 to 225). I am also tired a lot. I thought it was just me. I was taking the liquid percoset until yesterday morning, now only as needed. Seems like only if I do a lot, then I need it still.
I think I am healing well. Diabetes didn't go away, so it looks like I really am a type I like we had thought. Oh well, I didn't let myself get my hopes up.
Wounds are healing pretty good I guess, got the staples out on Friday, and felt like garbage for a few days afterward. Everyone in the office kept saying how much better I would feel with them out. WRONG.
Hope everyone else is doing well too. I'm trying to milk my time off as much as possible, right now I'm scheduled to go back on 1/12 and I will be trying to extend that a week if possible. I think I will work the tired angle.
Bye for now!

My stomach sounds crazy, it's the funny topic with the family now. You can hear it across the room. I can't imagine if that happened to me in a meeting at work ;)

Congrats, like the pp said the pain is hopefully short lived. The crazy gas was the worst for me.
