Topic: RE: What stage are you in?

My RNY was 12/9/08.  At this point, I am living on: cottage cheese, string cheese, cheddar cheese slices, Carb Control yogurt, Quaker Oats Weight control oatmeal every a.m. for breakfast, Stew Leonards chicken chili, tunafish mashed with Hellmans lowfat mayo, and pureed chicken nuked with melted cheese. I supplement with SF popsicles, SF jello and SF chocolate pudding. I never go hungry and I hit my 75g of protein just fine.  If I am off target, I drink a Muscle Milk.
Hope this helps.

Topic: Home from RNY
I have been receiving a lot of good thoughts and comforting words and wanted to give a little update. (I’m posting this on my usual boards ) I will probably not be on very often because I am still so tired…lol.  I came home last night, but the last few days were rough.  Surgery went fine until they found I had internal bleeding and couldn’t get it to stop.  I ended up getting five units of blood and medication for clotting.  My husband Brett was there with me the entire time, and I have a whole new outlook on him as a person.  I have always known that he is a good man…but I really had no idea what he was capable of, and I can’t imagine my life without him in it. And on a side note, I have never in my entire life FELT so much love surrounding me…that alone was an amazing experience.     As far as pain, I felt like I had done about 1000 crunches, but that it as far as the surgery itself.  The worse pain is the trapped Gas that floats around inside trying to get out.  Walking helps, but it seems that only time solves this problem. And to be honest, it’s the only reason I’m taking pain medication. That pain SUCKS!  I can drink as much as I did before, and have only eaten Jell-O which goes down and stays down fine.   I am already on Iron and B12, and the idea of getting the iron transfusion has been floated around, but I will know more next week.   I DO NOT regret this decision and I am still so excited to start living life like I want instead of imagine because of this excess baggage.  I will write more when I can…but thank all of you so much for your support, thoughts, prayers and vibes.

I am doing good. Out walking around town.  Got to  take my new granddaughter to the fire department today and walked home from there. It was fun pushing a stroller again. Haven't done that in about 13 years.

Congrats on moving to the loser's bench. The gas does go away but it does hurt quite a bit while it is there.

I am one week also. I don't think I lost one pound.

But Than again i am so friggin hungry all the time. I think I am eating what I did before the surgery. Only it is all protein and no fat.

Most if not all of my pain is gone. It is only wen I lay down or wen driving. The wiggle in my belly is still there, well you get the idea.

Congrats to evrybody that is losing. It is good to hear that

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

Wahoo for 13 lbs!

The large incision is my main area for pain too... ohh today it felt like something ripped inside of me. OUCH, I was doubled over. And getting on the floor, goodness I did that on Christmas to watch my kids open presents. That was just a silly think to do! LOL
