WOw.. I have no idea on the Ursodol cost.  I don't start it until day 11 and will get it filled tomorrow.  THanks for the heads up on that though.  Better make sure I've got $$ from somewhere.  I'll try to remember to post and let you know the cost when I get it filled.  Though, I do have really good prescription coverage so it shouldn't be more than $15 with my co-pay.  (In the best of worlds, right?)  lol

Well I've made it to day 6 post RNY and there is a HUGE difference between how I feel today and how I felt yesterday.  I managed to not take any pain meds all day yesterday until bedtime.  I took a long walk, probably about 10 minutes, before going to bed because I just felt SO bloated and hadn't had much of anything to "eat".  That helped enormously!  I put my binding on to go to bed and while I woke up several times during the night with some discomfort, it wasn't really pain.  I found I could turn over on the couch without excruciating knife stabbings (lol) or my organs falling out and this morning when I took the binding off I feel about 60% less bloated than I have the last few days.  My stomach also doesn't feel nearly as hard today.   YAY recovery/1  I'm nowhere near ready to run a marathon, let alone my  household, but I definitely feel MUCH better.  Hang in there everyone!  WE're gonna make it!

I didn't have Lap-Band so I can't say for sure but that sounds like it's probably normal.  I still have pain at my incision sites and I"m 6 days out from RNY.  I have no "new" object for my body to get used to so I imagine it's your body trying to grow the appropriate scar tissue around the port and to heal.  However, if it's really bad pain or it keeps up, I would definitely call your doctor's office and ask.  That is what they do for a living and the do expect the phone calls!!  Don't worry about them.  :-)

HOpe you're feeling better soon!

Yup.. I have the same thing.  I"m guessing it has to do with the swelling and gases pumped into our stomachs.  I'm sure it'll clear up.  Besides, we still have the sagging skin to look forward to.  lol

Happy New Year everyone!

Okay, so I was worried and checked.  lol

The Ursodol will start on day 11 crushed until six weeks, then tablet until 6 months

I start Vitamin D2 post-op one a week for 12 weeks.  Not sure when "post-op" starts.  I'll have to find out.

I also just discovered that my Pepcid (I have the generic form) is supposed to be 20 mg and mine is only 10 mg.  Better get that corrected, eh?   I so suck at medications.
Ursodol... thats the gallbladder medicine so you don't get gallstones right?

Not trying to be nosy, but how much did that cost? My doctor prescribed actigall... went to fill that yesterday and the generic version was $160 --- ahhh.

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

Everyone recovers at thier own pace. I know I had my surgery the 19th... and feel kinda normal- of course I kinda overdo it and do more than I should because I am noth used to being the one that gets taken care of.

But take your time... because it's no fun when you end up popping the stiches on the inside, actually hurts more than anything else.

I have the same thing except it's the right side for me. It's like my left side is all bloated and swollen, but my right side got punched down. It looks so weird. I'm hoping once I'm all healed that my stomach will look normal -- or at least like it did before the surgery.

Topic: Deformed Stomach ?

Hello All,
I had lap  RNY on the 22nd and am beginning to get concerned that something is wrong with the way I was "put back together". When I lay on my back, which is constantly due to back pain, everthing looks normal. When I stand up, my two left incisions are pulled in. I looks like I am pushing them in with a fist. Does anyone else have this, or is it the same whether you are up or down?
Reading everyone's posts h
as helped me so much more than I ever would have thought, Thanks Everyone! Kristi
