Topic: RE: 1 week postop...
I had surgery on December 15th and have not been on a scale since I left the hospital and won't be on one until Jan 2nd when I go back to the doctor so I have no idea if I have lost any or not yet. I will keep you posted. I am glad to hear other post ops are hungry because I am dealing with this too. I know part of it is head hunger, but I KNOW that some of it is real hunger....I have no idea what to do with that yet....

Topic: RE: What drugs are you taking?
Went to the pharmacy today on the Urso. It'll be $180 if for some reason my insurance doesn't cover it. Is there a reason they just don't remove the gall bladder while they're in there if they know it causes problems later? Just a thought.
Topic: RE: What drugs are you taking?
Here I thought I'd bought Pepcid AC and I bought Pepcid Complete. The former is 20 mg, the latter only 10. So... I picked up the right one today and I think I'm now taking the right stuff. lol
Topic: RE: Anyone else having surgery New Year's Eve??
No, but I am going in on 01/02/09. How did you do with your liquid diet?
Topic: RE: December 30th??
Hooray for us! Its going to be a glorious day in two days! Are any of you on a pre-op diet? If so, hows that going? I have to drink protein drinks for breakfast and lunch, and a heavy veggie dinner with 4-6oz of protein, but that ends today. Tomorrow I can only have clear liquids all day.
Best of luck to all of us!

Topic: RE: Dec 22nd RNY
I had mone on the 22nd and home on the 23rd. I had some gas which walking has helped with. I have pain on my RIGHT side (everyone else says it is their left side) but that is about it. I am now allowed to have full liquids whi*****lude s/f low fat yougurt, s/f pudding, and low fat creamed soups. I was told no milk, but to use lactaid or soy milk. For breakfast, I have between 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the yogurt, then sip my protein drink. It is a liquid that I mix with crystal light. Then lunch I have about the same as breakfast but maybe change it up with s/f pudding. Dinner is a 1/2 cup of soup. It takes me about 45 mins to an hour to eat my meals. I don't think I am getting more than 32 oz of water(crytal light) down but I am working on that. That is my goal. Now what I can tell you is that I have been missing a meal since I got on full liquids. I can only seem to get in two meals with the liquid in between. I am on a blood thinnner, nexium, 2 chewable childrens vitamines and I am supposed to be taking some liquid calcium citrate. I can only find calcium carbonate. I will have to search more for that. I have my first follow appt tomorrow.
I feel pretty good. Today hubby and I went to see a movie. It was great getting out. I took my drink with me but that is how I missed having lunch. Oh well...

Topic: RE: Deformed Stomach ?
Thanks, I can't believe how much piece of mind this gives me. I was beginning to think that's why my back was hurting so much too. But, I can reach the floor again today :), so there is my win.
Glad we are not in this alone!

Topic: RE: Lower Left Abdominal Pain. Anyone else? Info?
I am a little over 3 1/2 weeks post op and I feel really good now. But I had the pain in the lower left side, including burning for about the first 2 weeks. Now I find I still get it if I overdo it. Maybe I do a little too much exercise or too much shopping. I have to remember to be careful as it is still early. But I don't need any pain meds any more for the pain. It will go away soon. And don't feel badly about complaining - we all do it!!! This is a new life for all of us and we are learning all new ways. I hope you feel better soon.
