Topic: RE: Too much food?? Where's the restriction?
Extremefaith: What your nutritionist says is not what everyone's does, though I do agree with what the others are saying about too much. Your pouch will wake up and you will feel restriction (I just started too the past few days). Call your Dr.'s office and find out exactly what you should be doing, or consult your patient guidebook (if you have one).

Again, every Dr. has a different plan, not all of us are on liquids for 2 weeks and not all of us are allowed to eat soft foods after 2. Call your doctor;s office to be sure.

You should not be in danger of stretching the pouch if you are eating food that can easily slide into the small intestine, however, the more the new stomach has to work at digesting food, the longer and more painful your recovery could be (on the inside).

Worry abou****er this early out, drink drink drink!!!! Dehydration can cause a majority of complications for the body both inside and out.

Thank you both for posting a reply.  I really thought I was losing it!!  I'm glad to know that I'm not alone but will admit I feel badly that you're going through it as well.  I also find that I am just totally tired all the time.  I guess that's to be expected what with the body trying to heal and recover and all.  I guess I just didn't expect to be this tired!  MY poor kids surely don't understand what's wrong with their crazy mother!  (They are 6 and 3)  But, they have been so helpful.  Everything I've asked them to help with they have actually done without complaining!  That FOR SURE I'd better enjoy while I can!!

Have a stellar night ladies!!  Stay warm!

Topic: Guess what NY resolution I'm NOT making this year?!?!
I just saw the Valerie Bertinelli / Jenny Craig Ad.  She says that she doesn't have to resolve to lose weight next year, and she's going to wake up on New Year's Day without thinking about her weight.

Guess what???

Me too!!!  Woo-hoo!!!!

This year, I know that as long as I keep up my commitment to healthy food and exercise that the weight will take care of itself.  I feel like a huge cloud has lifted..

I feel really hopeful and exuberant, and just wanted to share it with you.  Happy New Year everyone!

Ah, yes.  Didn't consider that.  I had surgery the same day you did-- not sure why that doesn't show up on my avatar...

I can't answer this one, but my doc told me that I had to increase my sodium intake for my body to heal after surgery.  I had lots of bruising and some internal bleeding, and he claimed that my body needed more sodium to flu**** out.

I'm not sure if you're newly post-op or if this even applies to your situation, but I hope it helps!

Topic: RE: Freezing all the time now!!!
You have *no* idea how jazzed I was to see your post.  I've always been the kind of gal who walked around in shorts in the winter time... hot all the time.  However, I have been cold ever since the surgery!  I do mean right away.... I thought my hospital room was freezing and couldn't wait to get home.

Now that I'm home, my hubby is complaining about the heat being set too high!

This was really weird to me, because this change was right away - I had not lost a pound and already was complaining about the cold.

Let's hope this is a temporary thing, because imagine how much worse it's going to be when the weight comes off?  Gah!

Topic: Salt!
Hi, everyone.  I've been reading and finding a lot of answers to my questions on the message boards over the last couple of weeks, but there's one topic I haven't seen... and that is....

SALT.  I want to shake it directly into my mouth.  I wonder if this is a mere craving or if there are physiological reasons/needs for salt that my body is trying to signal me.

Can anyone shed any light or share some words of wisdom on this one?

Topic: RE: Finally!! Feeling the restriction I am supposed to feel!
I'm SO glad you posted this.  I'm 1 week post op now and feel like I could always be eating if I let myself.  How did you "restriction" feel?  I've heard so many possibilities.  I'm still try to decipher all the new sounds and symptoms that my guts has invented since the surgery.  It's like trying to learn Greek or something!  lol
