Welcome back home!

Tired is very common, and you'll get a little better every day.  Just remember:  walk walk walk... and sip sip sip!

Welcome to the loser's bench....

Soooo glad you're OK!  The heparin worked a little too well on me too, although I didn't pass out or have to go back.

Keep pushing fluids and get sodium in!  It will all help flush out the old blood & clear up the bruising.

Here's to a healthy 2009!

Topic: RE: Any advice when you overeat?
The only rules I have for full liquids is that it can be passed through one of those metal strainers.  Cream soups are allowable.

In thinking about it I think it was a lot of things.  Too much fat, too many carbs, too much everything.  I didn't think to switch out the Evaporate Milk for 1% milk so that made it even worse.  I do know that it was horrible and I've not been able to eat anything today.  I got down about 1/2 of an 8 oz. protein shake before I started feeling like it was going to make me vomit and about 1 oz. of liquified vegetable soup.  I've also only gotten in about 32 oz. of other liquids today.  If it's not better tomorrow I'm going to call the doctor because I also now have an uncomfortable feeling under my left ribcage.  I think it's most likely a pulled muscle but who knows.. could've done something to a staple while vomiting.

I'm due to start purees on Friday.  Not sure, though, if I'll be ready after last night.

Thanks for your good thoughts.  I was really scared last night and continue to be nervous.  I'm sure it'll all be okay!!

Have a great welcome into 2009!

I got my drain out on the 24th.  That did not cause any addition pain, though.  Sorry.

My stomach looks pushed in by the biggest incision.  The rest of the stomach still looks pretty bloated.

It seems like that's pretty normal for all of us.

Topic: Back from the hospital (again!!)
I ended up in the emergency room Monday night, a week after surgery.   I ended up passing quite a bit of blood which caused me to pass out on my kitchen floor.  My doctor said I needed to seek help after passing out.
I was released today, after being in the hospital for two nights,  so I am home again.

The doctor thought I was having problems with hemmoroids combined with using heparin.  The loss of blood caused me to feel light-headed, causing me to pass out.  My cheek has a scrap on it.  My nose was cut in a couple of places.  And, I hurt in more spots than I did before Monday.

At least it is not from anything worse.

 Glad you are feeling better.

I have to be on liquids, both clear and protein until almost the end of next week.  Then, I think it will be a month on pureed foods.

Did your doctor consider that kind of soup a full liquid?  Was it higher in fat?

Anyway take care of yourself.

Topic: RE: OUR month is ending...
Our month may be ending (and since I'm still recovering I'll iikely be asleep long before the ball drop lol  )  but our lives are really just beginning!  I also want to say thanks to everyone for everything!  Not sure if you saw my post of last night about the overeating situation.. .but I'm not sure what's going on.  I'm much, much better today.  However, I now have a nagging pain just under my left breast when I move a certain way.  I'm hoping it's muscle soreness from vomitting but if it gets worse I'll sure be calling the doctor!  My luck I broke the staple line.  Any ideas what the indications of THAT would be?

In any case.. I do mean a sincere thank you to everyone!  You're the greatest and have been SO very helpful to me!  Hugs tand congrats o you all!
