I imagine part of why you did the surgery was so you could live a long life and enjoy your children and eventually your grandchildren.  Keep in mind all the things you would probably go through if you didn't do this-diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis, possible stroke and/or heart attack, and on and on.

So right now, you are looking at the short term.  Look forward to the bright and light future ahead of you.  Hold on tight, it will get better.

Happy New Year to all!  Just checking to see how my December 2008 WLS friends are progressing?  Hope all is well with everyone.  I am do wn 31.6 lbs to date and LOVING it!  My wounds are healing nicely and I have my first post-op appointment set for this coming Tuesday.  I am a Lap Bandster so hopefully I will get a date for my first "fill" when I see Dr. Brody on Tuesday.  Well, take care.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

You know I never even thought about the pills.  In the hspital they were so nachalant (is that how you spell that?) about handing them out and I was feeling bad because I was having trouble swollowing them!  Now it makes sense.  But let me tell you ~ pain pills TASTE DISGUSTING!   I mixed it with vanilla pudding and OMG... I only got half of it down, enough to get me to sleep last night!!  I am about to crush up todays ****tail of pills.. lol

Happy sipping to all,
Pam

Here's to wishing us "one heck of a year!"  I am claiming it now!  That song "Never would have made it"... I think he had me in mind when he was singing that one. All I can say is that I must me in line for one heck of a blessing if the devil has been attacking me like he has....girl I am holding my breathe in anticipation for all that God has in store for me because by His GRACE I MADE IT!!!!

YES WE CAN!
I will never consider myself a failure...unless I stop trying.

Hey, great idea for a thread...

i am doing well in a lot of areas, but...
a. have found myself about to lick a spoon which had mostly mayo (light) on it!  (yikes!?!)
b. have not been out walking as much as I like (snowstorms)
c. have only just recently gotten near my 1000 calories per day (but I am also just getting up to 75g of protein - all from food!)
d. worry a bit about how I will manage work while I track my food and my liquids... but I think my day is going to be "prepackaged" and maybe pre-entered (I use fitday).  Then I only need to take "out" whatever I do not accomplish.  Does anyone else use their PDA to remind them of their calcium and vitamins?

For me everything with the surgery has been great.  However, today I had my first reaction to eating.  I was eating tuna fish and got some dumpingesh symptoms.  I don't know if it is because I ate to fast, can't handle tuna yet or didn't chew well enough.  Heck, could have been all three.  I am going to wait until the start of week four before I try chicken or fish now.

I a having the WORST time not drinking with my meals or the 30 min b4 and after meals.  I suck at the timing of it all and I want to have a sip of something to help get the food down.

Taking sips instead of gulps of liquids.

And I still suck at exercising.  I have two kids and no time and I don't want to drag them along.

BUT...I will overcome.
