That stinks to find out after! I just got my preventative medicine for gallstones at my post op today. I think he said 60% chance without medicine, and its cut down to 2% with it. I haven't had too much tummy pain. I can feel the stitches across the lower part if I move wrong, and the scar tissue building up under the incisions. My back still is sore, but I finally found  out I can take more tylenol than I was. I was supposed to go back to work today too, but can't handle the long ride in until my back stops hurting. So, I am working from home until I get past that. I think it was a good thing for today, since my first day of work resulted in the need for an afternoon nap. All in all, are you happy you went and got the CT scan. It must be a relief to know that there are no clots. That was one of my biggest fears going into this. Are they trying to fox the pancreatitis, can it be fixed? How is the rest of your tummy feeling, muscles etc? We are the same date so curious how you are feeling. Are you ready for work? I will pray that the gallstones stay "dormant" for a long time for you. Make sure you keep hydrated so yu don't add kidney issues too. Hope the pain is better today!

I just don't get why they wouldn't check it while they were in there if they know that it becomes a problem.. or why they don't do more thorough testing before the surgery!  I was told that if there were problems with it the gb would be removed at the same time.  It would've saved me having to crush this NASTY Urso that I have to take and makes me nearly vomit each time.  Fun eh?  LOL

Fortunately, the gallstones aren't bothering me at all...  yet.  Hopefully it'll stay that way until summer vacation.  ha.. not my luck!

I was still having the pain too, especially when I got up in the am. I started wearing the wrap/binder thing they put on after surgery and it REALLY helps a lot, I can even sleep on my side with no problems. I wear it every night now and no longer hurt.
Hope it helps you too

Topic: RE: Finally had my post op!
Thanks everyone!
I finally made it home yesterday late afternoon. I have been gone since Dec 15 and it is great to be back in my own home. I was supposed to go home Sat but with the ice I stayed until yesterday. I think I saw at least 50 cars smashed and/or flipped over in the ditches in a 40 mile stretch of interstate. Scarey!

I was going to go back to work today but I was so tired from the drive and then unloading everything. I stayed home today, and my boss told me to take another couple days off. I am out of vacation time but some of my coworkers donated some of theirs to me so I think I am going back Wed or Thur.

I am down 23 lbs now, plus the 8 I gained/lost from the surgery.. wow that is 31 .. only gonna claim the 23 though.

Hope all of you are doing great. Please keep in touch!

Hugs to all!

Topic: Lap Band Fills
Greetings and salutations everyone,

As you guys know, I had Lap Band surgery on 12/11/08.  Due to the holidays, I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow.  Just curious if anyone knows how long between surgery and my first "fill".  I think my stomach swelling has dissapated cause I dont feel like I have as much restriction as I did a couple of weeks ago.  I know some people call this "bandster hell" because your stomach swelling has gone and the band is looser until you get the fill.  I totally understand it now.....I'm having to really watch myself and quite frankly I'm really looking forward to that "fill" to get some restriction back.  Any advice will be most appreciated.  I know my Doctor will tell me tormorrow but I figuered what the hell ask you guys now...LOL

take care everybody,
Rob
