Topic: RE: Salt!
I had a massive salt attack about a week out from surgery.  I licked the salt off several crackers and a few peanuts, and then tossed them.  I didn't know what was going on with me, but it was the strangest craving. I attributed it at the time to PMS, as I just had an IUD placed before my RNY.

I a having the WORST time not drinking with my meals or the 30 min b4 and after meals.  I suck at the timing of it all and I want to have a sip of something to help get the food down.

Taking sips instead of gulps of liquids.

And I still suck at exercising.  I have two kids and no time and I don't want to drag them along.

BUT...I will overcome.
This is totally me!!!

Topic: RE: What stage are you in?
I had surgery on the 22nd.  I was on liquids (clear and protein drinks) for 2 weeks.  Today, I graduated to pureed foods and liquids.  In four weeks, I can have soft foods.  I think those are for 2-3 weeks, then finally regular foods.  1/2 cup for any meal and six meals a day.

For my first pureed meal, I had my DH buy some Wendy's chili.  I ran that through the blender and ate that very slowly.  I had about 6 oz for two meals.  I also had a tablespoon of unsweetened applesauce.  Not sure what I will make up tomorrow.

Topic: RE: Salt!
I've asked several medical people, both at the hospital and at the doctor's office if salt is supposed to help with healing from bruising.  None of them had ever heard that.  I find that extra Vitamin C has helped me with healing from bruising.

I found this when I Googled salt cravings

"salt cravings have also been linked to serious health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and sickle cell anemia. If you find yourself craving a lot of salt all of a sudden, it may be a good idea to schedule a physical. Be sure to mention your salt cravings to your physician, so he or she can administer appropriate tests for the conditions mentioned above."

Don't know if this helps.

Topic: RE: One month and down 32lbs
You should be eating the quantities that your doctor tells you to.  I was told to expect to eat no more than 1/2 cup of food at any one time for 6 meals a day for the rest of my life.  Today, I got my stage 2 (pureed foods) diet instructions.  I was told to measure out the food in the little 1 oz cups and to have no more than 4 of them (1/2 cup total) for any one meal.  Also the meal should take 30-45 minutes to consume.

How do you know you are not overfilling your pouch with so much extra food?
