Glad you got the drain out. I only had mine a week and I had enough by that time, can't imagine 8 weeks of that thing. Sounds like the best solution compared to another surgery though. Glad you're moving on and feeling good.

Hi. We had surgery about the same time and since, I haven't had any energy at all.  I don't take the gallbladder medication. I was hoping my iron would be low, (easy fix) so I had that checked and its at the same level it was before surgery. (Slightly low) Haven't had any other levels checked until I go back next mont for my 3 mo check.  I keep thinking I'm not getting enough protein.  It seems to be between 50-70/day.  Where are you at with that?

Topic: RE: Help I hate eating
As far as the meat I would try a crockpot!!!  I remember somneone having a similar problem and many suggested that.  One thing I do is take my time at the grocery stores fingd new flavors and replicate them.  I love meat also so I switch it up.  I  do not eat typical breakfast food sometimes I eat tuna for breakfast lol.  Do not be so hard on yourself reach out to your doc for tips!!!!

Glad to hear that it's finally out. I hate the removal process. They tell you that you're not going to feel anythingthey lied. I was glad to have it out, but removing it was hell.

So glad to hear that your drain is out.

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that my drain is finally out. The surgeon took it out today.  My leak is healing and I feel good.  I am very grateful I did not need a 2nd surgery to close the leak.  It was a pain to wear the drain for almost 8 weeks and have to empty the bulb, have the bulge under my clothes, etc., but it's over now.

Thanks for all your good wishes.  :)

Thank you!  At least I know others felt this way along the road...maybe just not at the same time.  I had blood work done January 5th but never heard from anyone so I was hoping that meant things were ok.

I have a call in to the surgeon and waiting to hear back from her.  If I still feel this way next week, I will head to the PCP and have everything checked over.

Topic: RE: Tortilla chips, pizza, bread, crackers.....
I would love to try some pizza but in my case I really feel it would be a slippery slope back to my old habits. I DID have a junk food problem BIG TIME! My breakfast used to consist of a bag of puffy Cheetos, a Nestles Crunch and a Sunkist followed of course by a Marlboro. Disgusting to say the least!

I am determined to never go back to that person again. I know right now is my "window of weightloss opportunity" and need to take full advantage of it.

Hopefully someday I can broaden my food choices but for now I know I have to say no-no to things that just taste great but offer no real nutritional value.
