Hey DO,

Some do have te same complaint.  Is it oozing or red?  I would most def speak to the doc.  Let me know...I'm sure all's well.

Topic: Incision Pain?
Hey Gang,

For the past few days, the top of my incision has been hurting.  Not constantly, but when something rubs against it.  Even if just a bed sheet or my shirt.  But, the pain isn't constant.  It comes and goes.  I noticed that it was a little red yesterday, but just chalked it up to my bra rubbing up against it moreso than usual.

Has anyone else had this issue?  Is it normal?  I go see my surgeon tomorrow for a check-up... I will definitely ask him about it.

Thanks for any input you can provide.

ETA:  I'm 7 weeks out.

Your definately not alone, my surgery was Dec 19, and I've lost  28lbs, in the first 5 weeks and have been in this lovely stall since then... hmm only good thing is is that I've lost almost 20 inches in the time since surgery.

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

Mine was the 17th, so I'm close!  I'm down a total of 42 lbs. including pre-op.  It is slow going for me but I will get there eventually!

Congrats to everyone.  We've come so far!

Hi to everyone-
My surgery was Dec 11th. Weight was coming off nicely 33 pounds after surgery and 20 pre-op for a total of 53.
That was till I hit a stall on Feb 2- today Feb 15th... not one pound off.....
I'm doing 3-4 days cardio for 45-60 minutes, water in take and Vitiams are good, but I'm going to write down protiens, calories and carbs starting tomorrow to check to see if I've been getting everything in. I've read on this tread to increase workouts so I'll add another day.
I only weigh myself once a week so I don't go crazy.... but I'm going crazy!

Oddly enough over the last 9 years and 2 kids later and prior to surgery, I've lost 67 pounds, gained back most, lost 47 pounds -gain back most and lost 40 pounds and gaind back all......AND I always stalled where I'm at right now!!!! 190.... I can't seemed to break it-
Any other suggestions-
Thanks
Shami

Topic: RE: Loose Skin already
I'm older than some of the other posters at 53 and have always had oily skin.  But this surgery plus winter weather has turned my skin dry.  My lower legs aren't tight anymore - it's weird to see "old lady skin" on my legs!  I almost panicked but I found when i used moisturizer they looked a lot better!   I was expecting saggy skin on my upper body and even my abdomen, but the lower legs were never very large.  I'm not complaining - they're not really saggy down there, just not tight anymore.

I'm one of those that's gonna need plastic surgery eventually too.  I have more than 200 lbs to lose in all, so it's inevitable.  I wish I had done this years ago when my skin was more resilient and when I had less weight to lose!

Oh well, good luck and let's all get to exercising!

From reading posts I am gathering it is normal to have a stall or big slow down after the initial weight loss - I have slowed way down too.  I am hoping I can get mine moving faster again - of course I COULD actually exercise like I'm supposed to.  My exercise bike is right smack dab in the middle of the living room in front of the TV.  Why don't I get on it?

I'm glad your stall is over - good for you!  I am hoping I can get mine going again.  I know, get on the bike!  LOL

Hugs,

Topic: RE: Calling all Dec. 15th Post-Ops

My surgery was Dec 19 so it's not exactly my surgiversary but I'm close.  I am down 58 lbs!  The first 53 lbs came off in 3 1/2 weeks and my doctor was concerned that it was WAY too fast, so he increased my meals to 6 a day instead of 3 and made me have an upper GI, which turned out fine.  I think I had a lot of water weight that I lost - I don't think it was all fat, but it sure has made me feel better!  I can breathe again!  I still have a long way to go, but that first 50 lbs made all the difference in the world to me!

I have since slowed way down and am thinking I need to do some exercise instead of just thinking about it.  I am back down to 3 meals a day - although it's hard to not have another meal now - I was spoiled for a week!  I would love to see more of our December surgeries post here too!  Is everyone as happy they had this surgery as I am?

Cindy
