I have been getting  more frequent headaches after having RNY. I used to have them before but very rare. They have starting usually around 9 am and last for a few hours. I thought it was because of the lack of sleep. I usualy have breakfast and then a few hours later baam.... headache.

I didn't think it would be my sugar cuz I usually eat.I did test my sugar at work last week, it was 85 or so but that was wen there was no headache just random testing. Today, I am sitting at work, had  eggs and sausage for breakfast and crackers for a snack. I got a headache, looked in the mirror after washing my hands, my face is flushed, so I checked my sugar. 63!!!! wtf is up wit dat!!

anybody else dealing with dropping sugars?

Going to call the nut if I can stop running calls.

Thanks

Can't say I have that problem but I had VSG not RNY. I am glad to read U R talking to the Nut for this. I would think it would go up after eating not down? Keep us posted as to the answers U get.

I was told by an endocrinologist Dr. Jeanmarie Davidson (JFK Strat) that it was due to too much carbohydrates is sending the sugar up then it comes crashing down. I was doing good for 2 weeks then had 2 episodes back to back days. The Nut. said this could be the problem too. Just trying to readjust my eating habits. And you can't skip a meal that will make your readings a little crazy too. I was told eat the same amount every day at the same time. Now in the EMS field I find this almost impossible at times. But I get very jittery when my sugar drops. Yesterday it went down to 55, grabbed an OJ and crackers plus 2 glucose tablets(YUCK). But it helped bring the sugar up to a good level.

That kinda make sense. I will pay extra attention to what I eat. I no sometimes if I dont eat any carbs for bfast it starts in a hour or so after, but yesterday I had bfast then a banana for snack.

then my sugar dropped. you could be right.

thanks

btw Barix has yet to call me back.

Well to update.

The surgeon finally called me back.  I love what she has done for me, but I wasn't happy with the answer she gave me.

She told me to eat something (small snack) 2 hours after having breakfast and that I should be eating more frequently in this stage of my journey. I kinda liked that answer cuz I haven't learned to stop grazing at times. but anywho. the object is to keep my blood sugars level. so i thought to myself, isn't my body suppose to od that on it's own? Makes me want to say hmmmm.

So I will give it a shot until next week when I get blood work and then I go for a follow up visit.

everybody have a wonderful day.

I'm going to blow up the computer here at work
