It's strange that you said that because I can't tell that I have lost any except in pictures. But I'm wondering if this isn't normal?

I am 10 weeks out today. I am still recovering from a leak.  I spent 10 days in ICU after having 4 surgeries in a week. I will be on the feeding tube for atleast another month. I have lost 27lbs. I am getting 1500 calories a day in my feeding tube. For the past 10 days have had the flu! Just wanting to get better soon...real soon. I can only drink 2TBs every 2 hours. Well I hope what others get out of this is that when you think you have it bad someone else may be worse off.

I'm so glad I seem to be do about the same as everyone else. I had my RNY 12/23 and am 7 weeks out now and am down 37#s. I plan on buying an elliptical this weekend , I hope it helps. With the weather here its hard to get much walking in , I have been doing it here at work during my breaks . I work 2nd shift so I walk circles around the empty office every night and up and down the steps .

This is an AWESOME topic!  I'm glad that you decided to post this!  I am 7 weeks out, and 38 pounds down.  It seems the scale goes up and then down, but I'm certainly not complaining!  I will admit that the first 6 weeks were ROUGH for me, and I really was starting to think that I made a bad decision...but now I am VERY happy I did this.  Food does not cause too much of a problem, and I'm feeling better every single day!  I wanted to tell all of you that your doing awesome and to keep up the good work!

Hi All!!

I am SO excited to see so many of my December friends posting.  I'd begun to worry about many of you!!

I had a follow-up appointment yesterday from my ER visit on 1/5 where I was told I had pancreatitis.  Doc says it wasn't really.  Just chemical elevation of the Lipase.  Anyhow.. I'm almost 8 weeks out and have lost 35 pounds.  Doc's office says that is about 24% of the excess weight I need to lose.  I am very excited.  He said at 8 weeks I should be between 20 and 25% of the excess weight gone.  (I guess there is truth to the whole "the more you gotta lose the faster you lose it!")

So.. I'm doing really well.  Started my thrice weekly exercise program.  (Walk Away the Pounds)  LOVE It!  I'm feeling better and better every day.

Glad to see you are all doing so well also.

I am also so happy that so many people responded.  It makes me feel "normal"! (although hubby disagrees).

LET'S DO IT AGAIN EACH MONTH.  WE HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL WITH EACH OTHER!!!

Each day is a surprise (or an agony) so we will have alot to share.  I plan on posting pictures next month as well and maybe some others can too.

I learned something important about pictures this week...I look in the mirror and I see some good stuff!! Then I take a picture and I see what others are really seeing...  So now I am taking lots of pictures, not that they are bad but where the heck did these legs come from and where the heck did my boobs go (maybe my legs I'm thinking).

Talk to you all in mid March.

I can't tell you how glad I am to see this post!

I am losing slow but sure, and I'm not freaking out anymore when the stalls happen.  They seem to happen frequently but I also know that I'm probably not exercising enough.  Not to make excuses but I work full time during the day and go to grad school at night.

The good and bad thing is - I can pretty much tolerate anything!  It is good because I have satisfied some cravings and didn't want to overdo it (and was unable to overdo it because of the pouch).  I even added salad back in to my diet and have not had any problems.

I have also had my tastes change.  I actually gave away a bunch of Fruit Punch Crystal Light yesterday because it was too sweet for me!  Is this happening to anyone else?

I did put any stock into people saying there taste change after surgery, but now I ama believer.

I used to make my own diet  decaf ice tea, since the surgery. don't like it no matter what I add.
I now like the premaid wylers deacf diet. and I don't drink my deacf coffee the same either.
