Foods different for everyone?

Im just curious, I have found very little upsets my stomach the way i was told it would, ok I have yet to be brave enough to try chinese food because everyone has said it will make me sick...but the only thing that I have found any kind of bleck feeling when i eat it is brussel sprouts (dont laugh, i like them)  and the peachs insyrup the elementary school serves (that one should have been a no brainer due to the sugars in the syrup but I didnt think before I ate it)  others are saying how they can finally eat this or that and I really dont have much issue eatting (ok granted in small amounts) but no real issues eatting anything  i have wanted...even seafood.  Is it an issue with restriction?  No, that doesnt sound right, restriction is the amount/ rate not the item....  drinking isnt an issue for me either...

Am I odd or have I somehow messed up my band? Or ???  The only real direction i have from the NUT is eat about cup food at serving protiens first, no drink 30 before or after, avoid sweets. get 70-90g protein.

I am a work in progress...perhaps never completed or perfected; but forever working to change for the better...

I'm not a bandster but I found that nothing upsets my stomach except for milk and milk products like whey protein shakes.  I have gotten sick 3 times, one dumping and the other two was because I swallowed my liquids/pills too fast and threw up.
I just think that everyone's pouch/stomach is different.  I can tolerate so many different foods.  I think I am lucky.

I had rny, not the band but I haven't had issues with anything either. I was so worried about that pre-op but I have to say *knocking wood* that this whole process has been an absolute joy. I have tolerated everything I've tried, I'm never hungry and I eat "normal" foods. I couldn't be happier :-)

If it's any consolation, I got the exact same direction from my nutritionist.  Now she is pregnant and left the job and the surgical practice hasn't replaced her. I am not going to go and find an out of plan nutritionist, etc. so her guidelines are what I'm doing too.

I've also lost "only" 33 lbs, so you are doing way better than I am. Good for you!

I have a terrible time eating almost anything.  The only things  do well with are soups.  I had some tuna tonight and didn't get sick.  I am mostly ok with fish, but chicken makes me throw up, and beef (ground) doesn't sit well.  Not sure I mind, as I am losing weight well without being hungry.  I know that by 6 months I will be eating almost anything I want.  But I'm not like you.  I can't eat anything, and I never try new foods when I am out or have to go somewhere in case I do get sick.

I don't have many restriction either, but that can be a bad thing for me. I am trying not to go back to the evil ways of the force that led me to gain so much weight. I have tried snack food and last night have tried some fried foods w/o  problems. so this could be a bad thing, should I let.

I have tendency to eat fast and groan later.  Bad habits I learned from  my work environment. Working on breaking those first before I go back to eating junk.

Hi,

I am a Lap Bandster too and I just has my first "fill" two days ago.  My surgery was on December 11, 2008 and up until the "fill", I had gotten to the point where I had very little restriction EXCEPT just before the "fill" I tried angel hair pasta.  This was a bad experience, it was the first time that I had vomited since surgery.  No more angel hair pasta for a while.  Now that I have the 'fill" I am noticing major differences in what I can tolerate and how much I can intake.  That's a good thing since I will exercise much more caution which is the whole point of the Lap Band.
