Mushy food blues

I'm so tired of mushy food.  I have come to hate scrambled egg.  I used to like mashed potatoes but they are not so appealing anymore.  Refried beans, been there...done that.  Soft fruit, eh, it's okay I guess.  I can't stand this mushy food diet.  I'm happy just to drink my protein drinks.  I realize I have to eat so my pouch can progress through the various stages of food and get used to new textures, but I really have no desire at all to eat anything.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I have cried half the morning because I can't think of anything to eat.  It's taking so long to get back to better textures of food.  I'm really down today.

How much longer are you at this stage?  I grew really tired of all the things you mentioned too while I was at that stage too. (3 weeks)  Have you tried making the lasagne on EggFace's website? It's pretty good. Tastes just like lasagne without the noodles.

I know exactly how you feel.  This is my last week on pureed food.  I am so tired of everything that I can have that sometimes I feel like it is just easier to drink my meals than eat them.  How much longer are you on the soft foods?  When did you have your surgery?

Real soon you'll move to: Chili, a pint of shrimp and lobster sauce from local Chinese takeout, a shrimp ring from the supermarket (chew well), tuna salad and, chicken salad which have sustained me.  I got through the pureed stage by eating alot of split pea soup too and pureed chicken breast with melted cheese.  Don't cry. You'll get there. My RNY was 12/9/08.

Stir in cheese; pour over steamed cauliflower and mix till combined. Top with optional crumbs mixed with remaining 1 tablespoons of butter. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
