Is anyone else still struggling with the protein this far out? I can't tolerate the milky sweet supplements. I am trying the nectar flavors now but am primarily getting all  my protein from these and beans. Please give me a little insight. Thanks

I'm struggling.  I don't like the protein shakes anymore. I tried a ready to drink no sugar added carnation instant breakfast this morning, only choked down about 1/2. I loved these before surgery. GRRRRR!  I can start on solids, so I'm looking forward to adding some protein bars. I tried 1/2 of one for breakfast, it was GOOD!   My protein grams have been about 40, IF I can get in one protein shake, or part of one in a day.    Where are you at with grams of protein, and how many does your doctor want you to have?

How about a fruity protien,  I have not tried it yet, but have orederd free samples from [email protected]. say you are requesting samples and give your address.  They will mail for free.

The brand is Nectar and I have read that the fuzzy navel or twisted cherry are very good.  You can buy the Nectar brand at the Vitamin shop, but i have requested samples before commiting.  I am done with buying and returning things.   The Protien has been difficult for me to meet and I am on the soft food phase.  In order to maintain loosing water and protein are essential.  Hope this helps

I have discovered Unjury protein. It is great. I have read tons of reviews on this product and still have not come across a bad review. I love it. They even sell sample packs. Go to www.unjury.com to check it out.

My favorite is Champion Pure Whey Stack chocolate; I mix it with water and it tastes pretty good.  BUT - I did start to get sick of all of the creamy shakes, so I ordered some Nectar Roadside Lemonade.  They have other good flavors too.

You might want to order samples (1.99 each) from Vitalady so you can test first and see if you like it before you commit to a big 2# or 5# tub!  www.vitalady.com

I'm not affiliated with Vitalady - but the sampling before you buy thing is a great idea.

Thanks for the Nectar email.  I just requested samples.  Hope they send them.  I too struggle with protein and know I am lucky if I hit 40 g a day.

Thanks, for all the input. I really like the fuzzy navel  flavor from nectar and have ordered some. I am not hungry all all and have to struggle to eat anything. I am on pureed foods for another 2 weeks and then on to soft. Is anyone else at a lose for what to eat and even about eating at all with no hunger cues?

ISOPURE was the answer for me.  I watered down the flavors I didn't like so much.  If I really needed to get protein in, I just held my breath and sip, sip, sip.  Those beans are complex carbohydrates and you are probably slowing down your weight loss by using them as a primary source of protein.  I really like Nectar also.  While I HATED milk before, I've made a mental adjustment and now I drink 1 or 2 cups of skim milk per day now.  Also, the NUT advises that calcium servings per day (3) will help to rid my body of fat cells as I lose weight.  Hope this helps.

Just a suggestion.

Optimum Nutrition makes and non-flavored protein called ANY WHEY. It has no flavor so u can add it to most any foods.

I mix it with sf pudding and make it protein pudding and non-fat yougurt. it can also be made to make smooothies, freeze it to make a chilled treat.
17 gms protein per scoop.
