11 days out, only 9 pounds gone
I had my surgery on New Years Eve, and it seems the weight is hardly coming off!! 9 pounds since surgery doesn't seem like enough....compared to others'.....am I on track? I hope I don't get in trouble when I go back for my post op!! I know it will come off, eventually....I know I shouldn't even compare myself to others....but it is hard not to!!
Thanks for letting me vent!!
Marie
Actually, you seem to be on track to me. It seems to me that in the first several weeks folks are losing right around an average of a pound a day. Some a little less, some a little more.
Don't forget you probably gained weight from the surgery as well with all the fluid and whatnot that they add. Just keep doing what you need to do and it will come off! Remember, in the long run slower is always better for your body anyhow!
Don't lose faith! You're doing great!

It is hard not to compare but you really need to not do that to yourself right now! Do NOT focus on the number. Let your surgery work and you follow your plan. It will work for you and you will be happy with your results in no time.
Every body is different - we are not all going to lose at the same rate.
Give your body a chance and let your surgery work with you!!!
psst - and put your scale away for awhile...

I was 10 pounds heavier after the hospital than before. I even heard of someone who gained 30 pounds while in the hospital. So, if you gained weight in the hospital, you are down that weight, plus the nine pounds you already lost.
Hang in there. Be happy it is going down. I am in the infamous 2 week stall for 1 1/2 weeks now.
Also check your measurements. They most likely are going down too,
