Congrats on moving to the loser's bench. The gas does go away but it does hurt quite a bit while it is there.

I got home on Christmas eve as well.  I have been having diarrhea, so no real issues with constipation.  Since Christmas day, I have been getting in 2 oz of a protein beverage (LC EAS), and about 2 oz of water per hour.  Herbal tea and chicken broth stayed down okay.  I haven't tried anything else.  I think I am getting in just over 40oz of fluids per day.

Congrats to you both!
I am on the same calendar, surgery on the 22nd, home on the 24th. Christmas Day I wanted to go back and undo everything, but feeling much better since last night. My back hurts from being in bed, but it hurts so much when I get up I head back again. The Codine made me sick on the 25th, part of why that was such a bad day, but it also jump started my BMs which are loose, so no constipation pain at least. I don't have any trouble with eating yet. I can drink a cup of my protein shake, if I let it sit so all the air deflates. I had some cottage cheese yesterday, but think I wasn't supposed too. I also had some blended soup, low fat with 7g protein. I also made a bacth of sugar free jello with a cup of vanilla protein shake. That was pretty good and I will probably have some for kunch today. I am taking jr tylenol chewables to try and help my back, but its not working yet.
I don't feel like I expected. I don't feel hungry, but don't exactly feel full when I eat either?

I have to drink 1 oz of liquids every 10 minutes aiming for 3-4 oz of protein per hour.  I am supposed to stop when I feel full.  I am not supposed to have anything but protein drinks and clear liquids for the time being.   This is for 2 weeks.  Nothing but LC protein drinks, milk, soy milk for protein sources.  I was surprised that some are trying soft foods already, so soon after surgery.

I was home in the evening on 12/23.  Also had the bad gas problem but that dissipated after 4 days!  Also having diarrhea like bm's (I say like because they are not  frequent).  I wasn't given anything for the gas, in fact I was told that since it wasn't normal digestive system gas, nothing would really help other than walking!

I was on 1 oz (Tues/Wed) then 2 oz (Thurs/Fri) per hour clear liquids.  Today I am up to 4 oz (1/2 cup) per hour and must add milk to the regimen.  I can also have 1 oz of sf pudding, or cream of rice/wheat hot cereal or hi protein yogurt.  I can add 1 tsp of protein powder to the 4 oz of milk.  I need to have 48-64 oz of fluids.  So far I've been drinking cold herbal tea, Wyler's tea (like Crystal Lite), sf jello, and sf ice pops.  Not having any problems except that having to sip from a 1 oz medicine cup over the course of an hour is a great challenge.  I haven't yet learned the definition of a sip!  But I get a quick feeling of fullness if I drink too much or too fast.

I had RNY on December 22 and came home on December 23.  I feel very fortunate that I didn't have a problem with the gas pains.  As soon as I was back in my room, I wanted in my pajamas so I could start walking though.  I walked and sipped into the evening, with a nap in between.  I took very little pain medication and since I can't take Lortab, I came home with Darvocet.  It has to be crushed and I decided real quick that liquid tylenol would do just as well as that awful tasting stuff.   I am on sugar free liquids for two weeks...one week almost down!  Christmas was hard because we went to my sister's house and she had a huge lunch cooked.  I made a pot of stew and drained the liquid off and ate that, and have made chicken and dumplings with the broth thinned down with canned broth.  Not sure I'm suppose to have the milk, it's not on my list, but it hasn't hurt me yet.  I've been getting down more than I anticipated.  At least 64 oz. of water, and a cup or so of broth for a meal.  I also need to learn to sip.  I've always been one to gulp down a bottle of water, just to get it down, but would sip on a soda all day.  Now that I haven't had a soda in quite a while, I need to learn to sip the water.

Overall, I feel great.  However, it's not unusual for me to be up and going after surgery.  Had some laporscopic surgery this summer and was up going the next day.  Same with my gall bladder several years ago.   I hope you're all doing well soon.

Hugs,
Marsha

I had mone on the 22nd and home on the 23rd.  I had some gas which walking has helped with.  I have pain on my RIGHT side (everyone else says it is their left side) but that is about it.  I am now allowed to have full liquids whi*****lude s/f low fat yougurt, s/f pudding,  and low fat creamed soups.  I was told no milk, but to use lactaid or soy milk.  For breakfast, I have between 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the yogurt, then sip my protein drink.  It is a liquid that I mix with crystal light.  Then lunch I have about the same as breakfast but maybe change it up with s/f pudding.  Dinner is a 1/2 cup of soup.  It takes me about 45 mins to an hour to eat my meals.  I don't think I am getting more than 32 oz of water(crytal light) down but I am working on that.  That is my goal.  Now what I can tell you is that I have been missing a meal since I got on full liquids.  I can only seem to get in two meals with the liquid in between.  I am on a blood thinnner, nexium, 2 chewable childrens vitamines and I am supposed to be taking some liquid calcium citrate.  I can only find calcium carbonate.  I will have to search more for that.  I have my first follow appt tomorrow.
I feel pretty good.  Today hubby and I went to see a movie.  It was great getting out.  I took my drink with me but that is how I missed having lunch.  Oh well...
