I do feel much more human today.  I took a shower and then my son and I went for a walk.  It was good getting outside.  It was lovely.  I think the temps are about 65 degrees.  I do have a lot of gas and some diarrehea but other than that I feel really fairly good.  I never knew drinking could be so noisey.
No need for pain meds.  I haven't had any since leaving the hospital and I feel fine.  I hope that continues.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Wow!  They only kept you one day past your surgery?  Yikes!  My doctor keeps lap-band patients one day and all RNY a minimum of two day past their surgery!  No wonder you feel like you've been kicked!

I'm pretty sore myself, I was also RNY on the 22nd.  Mostly, though, I feel okay.  I discovered that I am NOT ready for anything other than broth or SF cocoa though.  Tried some protein enriched cream of chicken mix tonight and my tummy did not like that at all!  Gave me gas pains that hurt up into my shoulders.  It was miserable!

I"m trying to remember to keep up on my sipping but I"m having a tough time of it.  My tummy likes to cuss me out when I pu****er in but that's all I really want right now.  Especially since the reaction is worse with protein.

I'm glad you're home.  I'm sure that each day you'll feel just slightly better.  Now we can begin our journey to truly making our lives the best they can be!!

Regards,
Julie

I still find it amazing how different all our docs are!  I had lap RNY on 12/22 and went home the next day. I really wanted to stay at least another day -- I was sore, in terrible gas pain, exhausted and so on.  You all know the feeling.  But my doc said recovery would be faster at home than in the hospital (probably since I can rest all I want without being woken every 2 hours by the nurses to take my vitals!)

I can only have clear liquids (no protein or anything else****il Saturday.  Todays the first day I can have 2 oz per hour instead of 1 oz (that's a teeny medicine cup to sip over the course of an hour!)  Actually, its not as hard as I thought it would be.
