freaking out

Hubby just got home from picking up my meds.  He said that my nexium is not covered and cost $180.00 a month.  He actually paid it.  I would have put that on hold and found out if there is an alternative med that my insurance will cover.  too late now for this month.  I hate paying that much for drugs.  It is a crime.
I have a Christmas party to go to tonight.  On clear liquids since my surgery is tomorrow.  This will be fun.   I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am.  My surgery time is 7:15.  I will have the surgery at New Hanover Hospital and that is about 1 hour away so I guess we won't be staying too late at the party.

Hey, have you broken the seal yet? Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't, but I had this happen last month and I called the pharmacy back and told them I didn't want that scrip, just one of the others my hubby had picked up...he was able to take it back and get our $$$ back, then had the doc call in another that was less expensive.

I hope this will work in your case. It's worth a try!

Hi Sandra,

I'm also tomorrow morning and have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am!  Good luck!

Must be very hard to be at a party and only being able to consume clear liquids! (I'm sure vodka, tequila, gin, etc don't count!!!)

May I ask what you need nexium for?  Not something that was prescribed for me.

I cancelled out on the party.  I decided that I didn't need the agrivation of being around all of that food right now.
The dr prescribed nexium to help with digestion and stuff afterwards.  I can't remember what all he said.  Something about healing too.  I guess I should have listened better.

My doctor prescribed Prevacid for me.  I think it is about $40-$50 a month.  They are the type that disolve in your mouth.  From what the nurse told me, it is to prevent esophagitis (sp?), inflammation, ulcers etc.   You might want to also ask your Dr. about Protonix.  Protonix does pretty much the same thing, I think and it is much much cheaper.   My husband takes that and it is only like $5 a month.

I feel like I'm way behind all of you.  My surgery is scheduled for 12:30pm tomorrow.  Hopefully sooner.

I will say with the snow and high wind gusts we have been having since Saturday night, I am glad we don't have to drive in the darkness to get to the hospital.

Good luck to you tomorrow.

 Hi,
My doctor has me taking Prilosec, which I just buy the Wagreens generic, and it isn't too bad price-wise.  I bet I can find it cheaper generic at Wal-Mart, I just haven't looked.
