Any December Lap Banders

I just received my surgery date and it is 12/31/08 !!!  Anyone else taking the leap this month???  Would love to share experiences with you.

Congrats! My LapBand is scheduled for Tuesday Dec 23rd. I'm starting to get a little nervous, but I try not to think about it. It's hard not to think about it each time I drink one of those yummy protein drinks.   This is a first for me. Not only is it the first day of a new life, but it is the first time I have ever been in the hospital for anything other than a routin office visit. So I'm a little nervous about that, but I'm ready to get it on and over with and make a fresh new start.

So how did it go?  My surgery was the same day!!

Congratulations of getting your date.  I just got mine on Wednesday, and I am December 31st for Lap-Band as well!  Here's to the new year!  Best of Luck!

Hello, Congrats on your surgery date, I got my band Thursday 12/18/08, and i didn't have any problems and or set backs so far, my clear liquid diet was a little longer than I thought it would be 3 weeks, then 3 weeks on solid liquids, so it will be a while for any solids, my pain level has been more than tolerable, basically, i felt as though I done a lot of sit-ups my port area is a little tender, but i feel full, even though I read and read and did my homework, bought the books etc...leaning to sip, and eat slowly will be my biggest challenge I think, but anyway Happy Holidays and God bless you and your Journey

I just got my band on 12/17!  I went home the same day and haven't had any problems.  Congrats on your date! 

My surgery date is on the 30th.  I am excited also. Are you on your clear liquid diet?

my surgery date is 12/30 what a great way to kick off the new year huh? Im on the second week of my full liq pre op diet I have lsot 13 lbs just with doing that and haven't seen surgery yet LOL!

I know this will be a tough few days with everyone else eating lots of yummy food, but I am resolved to stay on my pre-surgery diet.  I have convinced myself  that if I cheat I will not have the sugery.  

My surgey is 1 week from today.  I am on my pre-surgery diet which thankfullly is not all liquid.  In addition to the many liquid protien shakes I can have 2 servings of fruit and 2 cups of salad greens with 4 oz of chicken.   Salad has never tasted so good.

Happy Holidays to you all and stay strong.  Consider all that you are going thru this month a little gift to yourself and your families and the precurser to all that you will achieve in 2009. 

I had my surgery on the 23rd of Dec.  I went home that same day...just a little pain mainly at the port site...so it has been a few days...cant wait to go for my one week...see what is going on with me...I hope you feel great after surgery...I know it might be a little painful but just stay positive. Things get better every day...
