Hey everyone!

Well I had my RNY on 12/12/2008. I am home feeling fine gassy of course.  Just feel a little emotional really overwhelmed with this dont know if I am getting enough fluids because I dont want to stretch my pouch! I need support because my husband he is doing the best he can do by keeping me on schedule but I dont think he has grasped this all yet.  I used to be his eating b udy you know?

Welcome to the loser's bench!   I know how you feel; I also worry because my hubby was my eating buddy too.  I'm confident we'll be OK because I think we have a strong marriage.  I'm sure your husband will adjust too.  Just stay in touch with everyone on the board because we understand what you're going through more than your hubby could.

Congrats!!!  I'll be joining you on the bench tomorrow!

oh my!  Tomorrow huh?  I had my RNY on 12/9/08 - don't worry, everything will be fine.  Your husband will soon see you in a new light, not only for the healthier, more beautiful you, but also as his hero for surviving surgery, etc. I wish you luck!

PS - check out my blog for my list of what I brought to the hospital and what I didn't need.

Congrats on your surgery! I had mine Dec.9 and I was able to drink by large mouthfuls-not just sip like they told me to. So I called my doc and asked if it was a problem-could I be stretching my pouch? and he said as long as I don't get a "heavy" feeling in my chest from drinking such a large mouthful, it is ok. You can't stretch your pouch from drinking water as it doesn't sit in your pouch-it runs right through.

Hi Kristi,
My name is Peg and I live in NY.  I am a new member.  I had my RNY on 12/9 also.  I am home and still feeling tired.  I was hoping to chat with someone whom is on the same time frame so we can track our progress.  I feel normal except the fatigue.  You?  I'm one of those lucky gals whose hubby can eat 3x the amt I do and not gain an oz. I can also drink mouthfuls as I feel dehydrated.  I am feeling a bit of incisional discomfort but not too bad.  Still waiting for a normal BM.  How are you feeling?

Hi. Congratulations on your surgery. I know what you mean about eating buddy.  My DH is a very good cook, and I used to look forward to eating with him, particularly Sunday morning breakfast with eggs benedict.  I miss that.  So much of our lives used to be food related and looking forward to Friday night take out, etc.
