Hello everyone! I am pretty new here, signed up quite a few years ago when I was looking into surgery for the first time and had forgotten all about this wonderful site. The good news, I am scheduled for surgery on Monday, December 22 and am estatic and terrified all at once! If anyone has any advice, I would love to hear it!

Thanks and look forward to spending lot's more time on here in the coming months!

Welcome back and join the club. everybody is a little nervous to some degree and ready to go.

so sit back, relax, and enjoy the free karma and vibes that are going around.

and after your surgery the party and hard work begins

I am also on the 22nd.  To quiet my nerves, I just keep thinking about all the wonderful things I'll be able to do once again without being weighted down!

Hi! My surgery is also on that day.  Are you on a liquid diet? If so how is that going? I am having a hard time with it. Jello, broth, sf popcycles, boost drinks. I just want something to munch on and I did cheat and have 2 plain crackers. Wonder if that will hurt anything? Good luck to you!

Hi! My surgery is also on that date. I too feel scared and excited at the same time. I have been on a liquid diet since the 12th. I am having a rough time with it. I just want something to munch on. I did cheat and have 2 plain crackers. Whenever food has been your best friend it is hard to just give it up . I  really don'r count jello. broth, popsycles as food. But the boost is ok. It lasts about 2 hours then I feel hungry again. Are you doing liquids? If so how is it going for you?

Hey there Annette!

Oddly enough they don't have me on a liquid diet just yet. I have to go on Thursday for my pre-op testing and a class and then on Sunday I am supposed to do nothing but liquids..jello, broth, popsicles and non-carbonated, decafe beverages. I will probably start that a day or two earlier though like on Friday.

How are you feeling? Are you nervous? I am so busy trying to get everything the doctors and insurance company needs that I am running around crazy. I have been showing up in person at doctors offices because they aren't getting what I need to the surgeons office. Because I was disgnosed with Sleep Apnea I need the levels of the CPAP sent to my surgeon and we have been waiting for three weeks for them. Cros your fingers it will be sent and soon!

:)

Hope you are well, good luck!

I am also having surgery on Monday.  I am in the midst of a two week liquid diet.  Mostly protein drinks with some broth or tea mixed in.  I think my hardest day will be Saturday, when my family comes over to celebrate Christmas.  I will have my SF jello, broth, and protein drink to consume while my family has steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn.  Oh well.

Sunday, I need to do a clear liquid diet and a couple of bottles of bowel prep.  Yum!

Wishing all of us great surgeries!
