I was thinking about changing my mind also
I just had my surgery on Dec.9. I had pretty much resigned myself to it but I still kept thinking from time to time-"What the heck am I doing to myself?" I think that is normal. It is a serious operation and a huge lifestyle change. And the surgery is very painful. However, at 5 days post op, I feel great-no nausea, etc. and am able to walk about a mile (very slowly) a day. I have no trouble getting in my fluids. I think your "freaking out" is fear of the unknown. I am so happy I did it-my blood sugar is almost normal and best of all-NO HUNGER-not even cravings-that in itself is miraculous! You will do fine-just try to push those negative thoughts out of your head. You have a lot of folks here at OH who are pulling for you!

NO NO NO, just like I have told others! My surgery is Dec 18, I SHOULD be home by then. Once I am home I will get online and hold your cyber hand and walk you through it! Next year at this time we will all be getting ready for the holidays in our skinny clothes and wondering why we ever doubted ourselves for doing this!
Hang in there, we are all there for you!

if your having doubts go on you tube and type in rynemmy (her user name) and watch her journey...she documents how she went from 262 to 145losing 117 pounds in 7 months....she is very candid talks about the ups and downs of the surgery...maybe that will help
My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It
I am having the surgery on the 22nd as well. I am mostly focusing on the things I need to get done before-hand-five more days of work, getting ready to celebrate Christmas next Saturday, the pre-op liquid diet, the prep the day before with bowel cleansing and clear liquids, etc.
Good luck and don't give up.
