Well I have less than a week and the big day is this tuesday dec 16, 2008. I just don't think I'm ready. I have read the board/website and others websites like youtube and perhaps I have not made a good choice. I have read the advantages and disadvantages loss of hair, pain feeling week, and the head hunger pain, smaller cloths some say more energy, and feeling better. I'm just not sure about it now!
any advice?

Hi I'm Kathy

Had my VSG Monday 12-8.  A little sore sure, but feel it's all worth it for the future.  Already with pre diet and now 20 lbs gone.  Hang in there, we'll all say a prayer for you and surge ahead.  You'll be so glad by summertime.  Those first few weeks after surgery will coast on by.
Any questions?  Just ask.

My name is Sandra  and I had RNY Gastri By Pass on thursday, Dec. 11th, and everything went great.  Woke up after surgery and did not experience any pain, and I still have not had any pain.
Just get lots of people praying for you, and go in with a positive attitude.  I am sure all will not be gravy from here on out, but you must already have health problems to be considering the surgery.  The only probable I am having three days out from surgery is trying to figure how to get all of the protein.  Hang in there your will be in my prayers.

this is an opportunity that most people wish they had...they weish their insurance would cover them...they wish they could go through it. you have a chance to change your life. i dont know if you believe in God but i like to recommend to people to pray before they make a decsion..it helps....so go ahead and try it. he will listen :) and talk it over with your surgeon...if you picked one thats really good then im sure they will help you to weigh the pros and cons....and just know whatever you decide we are here for you...and if you decide to wait its never to late to go through with it in the future if you change your mind and want to do it.

My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It

Hello! I am having surgery on the 22nd, and I am scared as well. You are the only one who can make this decision..just like all of us. We all know the risks that can happen, but we also know the POSITIVE things that can come out of this if we work our new tool. But PLEASE don't ever be afraid to talk to any one here on OH...that's why we are all here..to give and recieve support! Good luck, and keep me posted!
