I am home!
Hello! I am home! My surgery was December 9th at 8 am, and I am home and feeling much better than expected! I'd like to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers, because they helped!
I'll write again tomorrow and share some of the details, but I just wanted to get a quick thank you in before I was off to sleep!

I can't say don't be nervous because I was a nervous wreck! My anthesiaologist gave me some anxiety meds right before surgery that really helped too. I was 368 preop so surgery was 4.5 hours long, but they were still able to do it laproscopically, which was doubtful prior to surgery. I had a hard time shaking off the anesthisia, but it was a great sleep! LOL. There is pain, but they give you this cute little button to push when ever you feel the need! What a great toy! All I can say is walk!!! Most of the pain is not from the surgery itself but from all the air the put in during surgery that created TREMENDOUS gas pains that maksed as pain, BUT when you walk, you "toot" and move all that air around.......and it feels sooooo much better. I was walking right away and it made a huge difference. I wasn't walking far, maybe only to the nurses stations at first but farther each time. Don't wait for the nurses to come and ask you, if you feel you can do it, call them and have them get you up. It's the best medicine. My surgeon checked on me just to make sure I was "tooting" not very lady like but ahhh so refreshing. They wanted to keep me three days in the hospital, but since I was doing to great they let me go. It was wonderful sleeping in my own bed next to my husband. I got a great night sleep. I haven't had pain meds since 8 pm last night. Time to start my liquid journal. I wish you all the luck in the world. I will say a prayer for you. If you have any questions just ask!
